She continuted to play, stopping for a moment. She let out a yawn, rubbing her eyes again. She still felt tired and doozy, a feeling of dizzyness in her head. She shook it for a moment, starting to practice her song again, her fingers pressing the different keys in a rhymth now.

L u c i o n
He took the trumpet case, his arm coming back to his side. He thought about the offer and then nodded, a small smile coming to his face. "Sure. When would the first session be?" he asked the direction, Mr. Evans.

Mr. Evans

"Does around 4:00 today sound reasonable?" he said.

Matthew

Matthew played the melody in the left hand, and then it switched to the left hand, he played the big chromatic scale down, and then went on to the series of sixteenth notes with both hands.

Joey

Joey played the solo again, making sure to play with a lot of vibrato in her tone, and making sure the crescendos stood out as well.

She blinked, stopping again for a moment. She thought for a moment, before starting to play something she had heard quite awhile ago. It was called "Sadness and Sorrow." It was probably from some cartoon she had watched or something over the summer. She started to play the notes, her fingers moving from note to note.

He nodded, starting to walk past the band direction. "Yes, that sounds great. Thank you!" he said to Mr. Evans, before he walked to the section of the other trumpets. He sat down, slowly pulling out his newly found trumpet.

Mr. Evans

Mr. Evans walked up to the podium and tapped on his music stand twice, telling the band to be quiet. "Okay, just to warm up as a band, I would like to hear a simple B flat scale."

Matthew

Matthew easily played the notes on the marimba. Looking around, he could see that the other two percussionists in his section were playing it on the other mallet instruments.

Joey

Joey played her notes smoothly and easily. Listening to the band, they seemed to have a nice tone quality all in all.

She blinked, her fingers switching to the appropriate keys. She blew into the flute, the sound coming out easily. She played the notes with ease, her eyes glancing at the other flute players. In retrospect, they were all...terrible.

L u c i o n
He blinked, watching everyone around him starting to play the "simple" B flat scale. He had no idea what that was, much less to actually play the scale. He puffed up his cheeks, not sure what to do.

Mr. Evans nodded. "E flat scale," he said.

Matthew

Matthew switched to the E flat scale. He had all scales, major and minor, memorized. And the arpeggios as well.

Joey

Joey played the E flat scale along with the band, trying to put as much tone into each of the notes as possible.

She switched to the E flat scale, remembering almost all the scales like Matthew. Her fingers moved on the seperate keys, her flute laying still in both of her hands. There was about an hour left of this class.

He kept sitting there, the trumpet in his lap. He had no idea what to do.

"Excellent," he said, cutting the band off. "I'll hand out a new piece we're going to work on," he said, taking out a folder and beginning to walk around the room, passing it.

Matthew

Matthew air played a couple more scales. He wondered what the new song would be. He hoped it would have a fun percussion part!

Joey

Joey waited. Mr. Evans walked past her and handed her the song, it was called On the Wings of Swallows. Oh, an alto solo! Excellent!

She took the sheet music, looking at it for a moment. It looked interesting, but it had few flute parts. She let out a small sigh, watching the band director pass the sheet music out.

He blinked, taking the sheet music from the band director. He would just look at the other guys playing the trumpet and watch them press the keys and all.
