Sammy-- "No thanks. I need Vally to learn to work on her own" Sammy replied and waved to Lex.
Sammy asked very lightly for a little bit more walk. Vally walked and her ears were pricked. She was walking in a straight line and curved her head without Sammy asking. Sammy gave the filly a little pat and Vally sighed in relief. It was almost like Vally was relieved that she didn't have a crop in her hand.
A little hoarse laughter came from behind Sammy. She turned around to see Charlie laughing like a 2 year old had milk coming out of it's nose.
"What's so funny Charlie?" Sammy asked.
"That filly is a real hiccup causer. She sighed when you gave her a pat." Charlie laughed." I've never seen a horse do that!" Charlie said and laughed/hiccuped the way back to the barn.
"Vally" Sammy said. "He scares me sometimes."
Sammy went back to work and asked the filly to pick up a trot. Sammy. Felt. Like. A. Cloud.
The filly's gait was so smooth. She sat to it a couple of times. Vally's feet were picking up, her neck arched, swift movements. Sammy had to admit, this filly's trot was better that Prude's.
Sammy let the fill walk a minute and let out some rein, this tim e to the buckle. The filly released her head and stretched itout.
"Well girl, looks like we have to just about break the news to Ash tha you are not a race horse. More of like a dressage horse."Sammy said stroking the filly.
Sammy picked up her reins and asked for a trot. She sat to it and then stoppped. She decided to let down some holes on her stirrups so she could glide with the canter. If the trot was smooth, the canter is probley evern better. Sammy picked up the reins asked for a trot and sat a few strides and asked for a canter. Sammy could feel the filly tense up , so Sammy placed a hand on the filly's neck and asked again. This time, no tense and they went.
"Wow." Sammy said under her breath.
Sammy felt like she was hit with a bucket of joy. The filly has the best canter ever. Nice and smooth and easy to sit too. Sammy placed her hands on the filly's neck and sat up to a 2-Point for a minute and asked for a little more speed. The filly had no hesitations. She simply picked up her speed and remained that amazing smooth stride.
"This is the best horse ever." Sammy thought.
The Best
