Portal/2 Roleplay Invite Only

Derek stopped suddenly, and then nodded, jumping through the portal. He looked around, looking for any sign of a threat. Like a turret, or a panel trying to crush them again. "Sorry about that... I made her mad..." Derek said, keeping an eye on the walls.

Jacob shrugged. "I'm pretty sure every test subject since the dawn of time has angered her in some way. I think I'm pretty close to doing it."

GLaDOS: "You most likely are."

"Like I needed telling" Jacob muttered. He checked the colour of the wall - it was white - then kicked it.
{White walls are normal, dark are panels}

((alright.))

"Yeah... We better get moving before she finds another reason to try to kill us." Derek said, fixing his grip on the portal gun. He turned towards the door.

The door slid open and Jacob stepped in. Unlike the others, this one looked different. Same colours, but the design was different. He frowned. "This one's different... There's never normally a panel sticking out of the wall is there?" he asked, confused

"Uh, I don't think so... I haven't seen anything like that yet." Derek said, looking at it. "Hmmm.... Can we put a portal on it?" He asked, shooting one up at it.

"Clearly..." Jacob said, then he had an idea. He shot a portal on the ceiling above it, then one below him. He jumped through the one on the floor, landing on the panel and sliding towards the floor. Shooting at the floor, and another portal next to his first one, he fell through and slid smoothly off the panel, taking the impact in his long-fall boots. He stood upright and grinned. "And that's how you have fun with a portal gun!" he said happily.

Derek laughed. "Yep, seems like it." He said. "As long as you have boots." He added, looking at his feet. He grinned and looked around the test chamber. "Lets see... Cube, cube... Where's the cube..." He mumbled, before seeing it on a ledge. "Well, that's easy." He said, shooting his portal gun at the wall near it. But no portal appeared. "Well... That's just great." He shot the wall a few more times with no luck.

GLaDOS: "Oh, please. Don't tell me it's run out?" she asked, sounding seriously annoyed.

"Uh... Maybe?" Jacob suggested, before saying to Derek "Is it out of juice? Or clogged?" he asked, hoping the answer would be clogged.

[CJClaire]

"Wait, they run out?!" Derek exclaimed, shaking the device. His eyes were wide, and he looked at it for a moment before shooting a portal at the floor beside him. "Uh... I guess it still works." He said, confused. He shot it at the wall by the cube again, but once again, no portal appeared. "Maybe it's the wall?" He mused, looking at the wall near the cube more carefully. "It's all black... Do portals only work on the white walls?" He asked, mainly to GLaDOS.

GLaDOS: "Black walls are panels - last time I checked, they weren't portal-proof." she said, then "Oh. I bet I know the problem. I am going to kill him..." she muttered

"Going to kill who?" Jacob asked, slightly worried.

GLaDOS: "The moron." was all she gave by way of explanation.
