Matt again sighed and rubbed his head against hers. "Stop being such a Negative Nancy," he said softly. "If you want I can call someone to come stay with us. I can call the police and see if someone can come out here and watch the house for a while." Matt had become acquainted with quite a few officer's of the local department through Aaron's trouble making.

Bailey sighed and looked at him. "Ok. Whatever," she said. She knew he didn't believe it was true, but she knew some part of it was. She sighed and her tears still fell pretty hard. She was terrified. Shavings something would happen eventually.

Matt scooted back over to his side of the bed and readjusted the pillow in the middle. He set Emma down on it and sunk down onto the mattress. He gave a small sigh as he closed his eyes. He reached across The pillow to Bailey and let his hand rub her side for a few seconds. His hand slid down to her hip and he left it there before pulling it away after a few seconds. "Just go to sleep, Bailey. No one's getting past me without a damn good fight."

Bailey layed there and thought about what he said. She knew he would fight for her and Emma. She knew there was nothing more special to him. She calmed her crying a little and closed her eyes. She didn't fall asleep though. She stayed up paranoid. She didn't want to fall asleep.

Matt sighed quietly as he finally slipped into sleep. His dream was dreamless, too tired to cross the special boundary to allow it. He woke up a few hours later, not much rested. He groaned and turned over and rubbed his face with his hands before turning back over to look at Emma, then Bailey. He sat up after a moment and gently picked Emma up, shuffling his feet to the nursery. He changed her diaper and then placed her in the crib, then sank down into one of the cushioned chairs and closed his eyes with a yawn.

Bailey watched as he walked out of the room. She looked around the dark room. She sat up on the bed and sighed. She rubbed her head and coughed a couple of times. She stood up and walked to her closet. She opened it and looked around in it. She fell to the floor and ended up falling asleep in the closet.

Matt's eyes snapped open and he jumped when he heard a thud. He pushed himself reluctantly from his chair and went back to find the source of the noise. He found Bailey and his brows raised, an amused smirk on his lips as he went to her and moved her so he could pick her up. He shook his head and went back to her bed and set her down on her side, then pulled the blankets up over her. He crawled over her to his side and laid down next to her, his eyes closing.

Bailey slept well. There were no nightmares or dreams. She woke up at 8:00 am. She went into the nursery to find Emma awake. Bailey smiled and picked her up. She made her a bottle and fed her. Bailey didn't mind this at all. Waking up early and not sleeping at night was what she was used to.

Matt groaned as he felt a shift on the bed. He rolled over and slung an arm over his eyes, his chest rising as he inhaled deeply. He stumbled out of the bedroom and started down the stairs. He slipped on one of the stairs and landed hard with a groan, then slid down to the bottom of the staircase. He groaned and curled up on the floor for a few minutes before sitting up and eventually pulling himself to his feet. "Damn," he mumbled, rubbing his back as he walked into the kitchen.

Bailey shook her head. "When did he become so clumsy?" she asked herself. She went back to feeding Emma. Bailey burped Emma and then fed her the rest of the bottle. She burped her again and then sat down. She played with Emma a little bit.
