"I'd be intimidated by your little 'bad ass' act, but you'll always be a good little hippy girl singing in the orchards"
Nathan said, smoothing out his shirt and squeezing past her. The train slowed a bit as they reached a tall building, and people in the cars further up started jumping out
"That's my cue, see ya' on the slip side"
Nathan yelled as he jumped, full force, out of the car

Annabeth spat curses at the boy as he jumped off. She shrugged off the Dauntless-born's grasp, jumping out right after the boy did. She nearly landed on top of him, but swerved midair to miss. She ignored him completely, walking up to join the rest of the initiates. This years crop had been small, and only about thirteen initiates stood at the edge of the roof.
"Someone didn't make it!"
another Erudite transfer, a girl, wailed.
"Not all of them do,"
one of the Dauntless said with a shrug.
"One at a time over the edge. If you hit it right, you'll be fine. If you don't, well, good luck. Who wants to go first?"
"I will," Annabeth said simply, striding forwards. She heard others muttering about how she was an Amity-transfer, why was she here.
All of that vanished when she jumped.

Nathan relaxed, ignoring the sudden cloud of sadness that some of the intiates acted like there was. People died all the time, he accepted that, but obviously most of the other initiates didn't
"Damnit"
he muttered angrily as he noticed the Amity girl had jumped off the ledge before he could get the chance
"You may be up a point for now, hippy, but not for long"
Nathan muttered, and he plunged off the rooftop with exhilerating speed

Annabeth laughed as she landed in a net, quickly scrambling off to allow the next person down to land without crushing her. As she stood off to the side, she got talking to a Dauntless there waiting to take them all through.
"What's your name, Amity?"
she asked.
"I'm surprised you're from that faction, you know. We don't get many peaceful-born initiates."
"My name?"
Annabeth repeated.
"Yeah. What do you get called, kid? Or rather, what do you want us to call you, huh?"
the woman asked. Annabeth actually considered. Did she want to be Annabeth, such a sappy name? Or something else...?
"My name's Beth,"
she said finally. That was better than Annabeth. By that time, the other initiates were starting to drop.

Nathan's body collided with the tight rope net only seconds after the Amity girl got up
"Beth,"
He heard her say, so he assumed it was her name. Cursing under his breathe, Nathan got up from the net and checked the damage
"Damnit, why couldn't you guys have silk or something down there instead of this damn rope"
he groaned, examining the scarlet rope burns covering his arms

The woman Beth was talking to turned as Nathan complained, a slight smile hinting on her face.
"Lookie there, the Erudite boy isn't as tough as Amity over here,"
she snickered. Beth grinned, holding back laughter. The kid would have to learn to toughen up. She hadn't complained, after all.
"Alright, initiates, listen up! My name's Liz, and this here's Bruno. All Dauntless-born will go with him, the rest of you with me!"
Liz shouted.

Nathan glared angrily at Liz, and gave her the 'ole one finger salute before following her into the curious compound
"What's that sound?"
he questioned, talking about the dull roar in the background
"We're not going to have to fight lions or anything right? I'm allergic to cats"
another lanky initiate asked nervously

Liz ignored Nathan's gesture, leading the initiates deeper into the compound. Beth wasn't far behind her, eager to see her new home. At the question about the noise, the Dauntless woman laughed.
"The river. I'll show it to you,"
she said, leading them up to a hole in the ground. When Beth looked over the edge, she could see water shining far, far below.

{{ I'm going to be going on a trip from wednessday to late friday, and may or may not have access to wifi, so I won't be replying much }}

"Wow"
The lanky boy from behind Nathan gasped
"Whatever,"
Nathan replied, his lack of enthusiasm clearly shown in his tone. He stepped back and allowed the other initiates go in front of him

Beth glanced over at Nathan, frowning at him. Liz let the initiates stare before moving on.
"You will all bunk in the same dorm; the bathroom is down the hall,"
she said as they walked down a long hallway.
"Tomorrow morning you will begin your training. There are three rounds. Only some of you will become Dauntless."
"Only some?!"
a kid in the back yelped.
"Yes. The rest of you will be factionless. Good luck,"
Liz said with a grin, showing them into their dorm. She let them know when dinner was, then left.
