Camron made sure he had everything and walked to the math class. He went and sathis things on the desk. "OK class your teacher is not here today because she is sick so I will be covering her class. I need to go over the sub notes so if you could please talk quietly that would be great." He picked up the notes and started to read them. He wrote a long math probem on the board. Then went back to reading the notes.

Naomi continued drawing quietly. She didn't realize that Camron was her teacher for this class too. She sighed quietly and finished her drawing, signing it quickly. She shut the notebook and began tapping on her desk quietly, looking around at her classmates. People-watching, she called it. She probably wasn't the first person to call it 'people-watching' either.

When Camron finished reading over the notes he set the paper on the desk. "OK pay attention please!" Eveyone stoped talking and faced him. "OK I am Mr.Hale. In class today, you are to do these math problems" he paused and wrote another one on the board longer than the first one. "she said you know how to do them but if you need help you can ask me."

Naomi sighed as the math questions were put in the board. She shook her head slightly and pulled out her notebook once again. She looked up at the math problems and wrote them on a blank page, trying to figure them out. She shook her head a few minutes later and tore the page out of her notebook, crumpling it in her left hand. She looked down at her notebook again and shook her head. She closed it abruptly and rested her head on her arms, closing her eyes slightly.

Camron looked at her and saw that she was not getting it. He walked over to her desk "would you like me to help you go through these?" he asked her. He looked around theroom and saw that most people were getting it and it was comming easy to them. He looked back over at her and waited for her reply.

Naomi shook her head slowly. "No thanks." she said quietly. "I'm gonna be moved before I could learn anything anyways." she muttered, looking down at her desk. She sighed, wondering why she didn't dress in all black. She should, it would be a lot harder for people to read her that way. She sighed slowly and waited for him to leave, go help another student or look over some notes that the teacher may have left, start a lecture or something. She didn't know.

For some reason he did not want to give up on her. Not yet at least. Then he got an idea "well OK" he said. He went to the frunt of the class "I know some of you think this is stupid and ask why do we have to learn math so I will putit in perspective for you. OK so think of what you want to be when you grow up. If you could do anything with your life what would it be." he paused for a while to give eveyone time to think "OK now we re going to go around the room and you will say what you want to be and I will tell you how you need math for it." he said "OK we will start with you" he said to a girl on the opposite side of the room from Naomi. She said what she wanted to beand Camron said how she would need math skills for that job. It went around the room like that for some time then he got to Naomi "OK Naomi, what do you want to be?"

Naomi looked up at him and shrugged. "Artist, or singer." she muttered quietly, not looking up. She knew he was doing this because she didnt want help with the math. She sighed quietly, tapping her fingers nervously on the table. Her eyes were darting from Camron to her classmates and back again.

"OK well for an artist you use scale, size and symmetry" He paused "measures, beats, and time signatures for singing. That requires counting. Also when you become rich and famous you want to be able to count your money." He said almost every job you need at least some math" He paused "OK well the bell is about to ring so I will tell yourteacher why none of you finished your math work." The bell rang. "OK so you are free to go." he said the students filed out. He eraced the board and then started to pick up his things. He hoped that Naomi would learn to care more about her education.

Naomi sighed and walked to her locker as the bell rang. She saw a few of her classmates staring at her, smirking. She knew what they were saying. "Foster girl wants to be famous, yeah right." "Foster girl can't sing or draw." Naomi sighed and opened her locker, grabbing the books she needed. She shoved them into her bag angrily and slammed her locker shut, and began to walk to her next class, choir.
