she suddenly veered off the other way and dove into a lake. it sizzled around her, and she dove deeper, desperate to get away.

she resurfaced a couple hundred feet away, gasping for air. her fur was soaked through.

she got out a little further up the bank and shook out her fur. it frizzed out and stood up everywhere as she glanced back at him.
