The toad took this chance to leave but the Long Patrol had no mercy for the toads they were fighting and killed them.

The hare general went up to the badger lord and saluted, "Earthpaw at your service, sah!" Tambo went and sat next to the fire near Retto. Drift climbed down from the tree and went back to her fish.

Tambo didn't try to make conversation, he just didn't really want to be with the rest of the long patrol as he was a rebel. Never weraing uniform, not speaking like them and never addressing other creatures properly. He just got out his sword and began to polish it carefully.
