Gary saw how uncomfortable she was and dropped the subject altogether. He pushed past Mike and walked to his truck, Mike thinking it was an invite to follow, did just that. When he got in on the driver side he used his body to block him from seeing Chloe. "We gotta go Mike" he spat at him with narrow eyes as he tried to get around him to see her. "Dont touch my plane again unless i tell you to. I dont want you messing anything up" He said and Mike gave him a glare and walked off giving up. With that Gary started the truck up and pulled out to get back on the road.

Chloe sent one more text to Maria, before looking up at Gary. "Just to warn you - I am not coming here, ever again." she said, so relieved they were finally leaving. She then got another text from Mike, yet again, deleting it without reading it, with a sigh. If he would listen to her, then she would stop ignoring him. But he wouldn't listen, no matter how many chances she gave him. So she had gave up, as she had learned that a guy like Mike didn't deserve any second chances, or even to have attention. She sighed and looked back at Gary, "I really, really don't know how you put up with working around Mike.. it must be impossible."

"Sorry, If i knew i would have had someone else cover me. Believe me the kid has some serious issues, He always tries to start fights with me." He said and sighed looking over at her. He looked back to the road and laid his head back in the seat as they drifted down the road. "So what is your story with him? If you dont mind me asking" He said giving her a quick glance.

Chloe sighed with a small shrug. "Well, lets just put it this way, mad ex-boyfriend. He got way to clingy and jealous with me just talking to another guy, so I ended it a few days ago. He hasn't stopped trying to talk to me since." Chloe replied, replying to Maria's message. Now, all they were doing is talking about negative things about Mike, which they were finding quite easy to list. Afterall, this was mike they were on about. He never understood anyone, other than himself. But at least she had finally ended their relationship, and he was slowly stopping his clingyness, on trying to get her to talk to him all the time.

"Oh, sorry to hear that, Well you know that I'm here to help you if you need it." He said with a light smile, Now they were back in town and more and more restaurants came into view. They pulled into a parking lot and they decided to get out and walk, seeing as though there wasn't many places to park by the restaurants.

Chloe smiled. "Aww, thanks." she replied, as she walked with him. She continued to text Maria, and now another soccer team member, but after a few more messages, she decided she would stop texting them, for now. She sent them both bye and then slipped her phone in her pocket, then got her glasses out and placed them on, she didn't go anywhere without her favorite accessory, she even took them to soccer practice, to wear after matches.

"You're welcome" He said with a smile and continued walking with her. After a while of not seeing much he decided a Diner would be best to stop from walking too far from the car, Of course it was full of tourists, but then again, when wasn't? They found a table and sat across from each other and Gary pulled out the one chair for her to sit before going to his chair to sit down himself.

Chloe sat down with a smile, and a slight sigh. She decided to leave her glasses on, as she felt stupid when she didn't wear them in public, as she was so use to wearing them, that she even imagined she looked stupid without them. They were almost part of her, she worn them absolutely all the time. She quickly got her phone out and put it on silent, so if Mike, Maria or any of the other soccer players text her, she wouldn't be distracted by them.

After ordering and eating their dinners, Gary was able to learn a lot from her and heard some pretty good soccer stories. They really hit it off as friends. Though in the back of his mind he wished they were more. Her blue eyes caught him in their grasps more than anything else, he liked her. That was it. But he wouldnt tell her, not after that issue with Mike plus her recent break up. He knew he wouldnt want that so soon. "I should be getting you home huh?" he asked with a chuckle and walked out with her. "We gotta get out of here before it gets too late and it gets dangerous here at night. Believe me" He said and walked between her and the road.

Chloe smiled, as she walked with him, that was fun. Her first time out where she wasn't worrying about Mike was good, and even better, she got along with Gary. They actually had something to talk about, unlike her and Mike, who could never think of anything to say. But although she was still a little concerned about Mike, she had glad she had got out, without having any problems with him. She was starting to find Gary a great friend, who actually listened, unlike other guys, and one in particular, Mike. They great thing about Gary, was that she couldn't relate him to Mike in any way.
