Now that Bella was almost always gone with Viktor, Artyom spent most of his day with Velydia. The only time the two were every together was when they came back to their dorm at night and slept until the morning. This time Artyom was a little late, looking unkempt as usual. He just passed Bella in the hall and saw her act in the room. He turned on the bedside lamp and lightly shook her, "Bella? Are you...okay?"

Bella, keeping her face in her pillow, nodded. "Of course I'm fine. Why wouldn't I be fine?" She said, her voice muffled. She sniffled involuntarily and let out a shuddering sigh.

Artyom shook Bella lightly again, "Then why don't you show me your face?" He countered.

"There's no reason to show you my face." Bella said quickly, holding the pillow against her face in case he tried to take it away. "Just go to bed, Art."

Artyom let out a low growl and grabbed Bella's arm, "Why not? Viktor beat you, didn't he!?"

"No!" Bella shouted, tugging her arm out of Artyom's grip. "D*mn it, Art, leave me alone, will ya? Viktor's fine!"

Art grabbed Bella's arm again, "No! I know what he did! There's no other reason for you to be acting like this!"

"There's no reason for you to care, either! It's my business, not yours! All you are is my roommate! That's IT!" Bella shouted, facing Artyom. There was a purple bruise on her cheek.

Artyom tensed at Bella' rage, but his attention was diverted by the bruise on her cheek. He waited for her to stop yelling, then said softly, "What's that?"

Bella's eyes filled with tears and she looked away, hiding her bruise. "It's nothing. I tripped. Hit it on something." she said quickly.
