"But..." Kiko bit his lip, looking a bit helpless. "What if they try and take you? I don't want to have to fight them..." He said, holding Todd close to himself and ducking into the bathrooms, looking down at Todd desperately. "I don't want to lose you, Todd."

"I don't--Daerin can't be broken into, right? We have some sort of treaty? This is protected land!" Bella cried, clutching Kayla to her chest. "Art, I'm scared."

Todd squirmed away from Kiko, letting out a small whimper, "I don't want to lose you either. If they see us together, they'll surely kill you and take me away. You have a chance to escape without me."

Artyom flipped open Khan's jar. Instantly, the ghost appeared, then disappeared as he ran through the castle, searching for answers. Art wrapped his arms around Bella and Kayla, shushing them, watching the window. He couldn't see anything outside--this wing faced the forest, "I bet that little freak-kid has something to do with this..." He growled.

Todd shook his head. "I don't care about survival if you're not with me." he said, wrapping his arms around Todd before making the two of them invisible. "Don't speak, and keep as quiet as possible." he whispered.

Bella bit her lip, burying herself in Artyom, trying to be quiet.

Todd held onto Kiko, letting out a small squeak, "Okay." He whispered and shut his eyes, too afraid to look.

Artyom watched the window and the door, listening hard/ In the rooms west of them, closer to the main building, there were screams and sounds of a fight, "They're attacking. I knew it!" He whispered.

Kiko pressed Todd's face into his chest and disguised the two as a bookcase, which already lined the hallways, just as he saw a group of the hunters running down the hall, breaking into random people's rooms and shooting as will. Kiko shut his eyes as well, unable to stand the gore. Where were the guardians?

Bella pressed her hand over her mouth. "Oh, my god." She whispered. This was supposed to be a safe place for her daughter to be raised!

Todd gulped and sucked in his breath as the hunters passed. One man stopped and looked in their direction, but he lost interest as a fight spilled into the halls.

Art waved a hand at the bathroom, and an odd gurgling noise came from the pipes as he sucked the water out of the sink. Footsteps passed their room and one stopped in front of their door, trying to bash the door down. Kayla started to cry, not understanding.

Bella hissed and made a breeze loud enough to block out Kayla's crying as she frantically tried to quiet her daughter. "Please, hunny, please..." She begged in a whisper, putting a finger on the baby girls lips.

The person bashing the door stopped, hearing Kayla. He laughed and kicked one more time, knocking the door knob out, "Prepare to die, freaks!" The human shouted, and Artyom growled, shooting a stream of icicles at him.

Bella let out a cry of fear and clutched Kayla close to herself, cursing that she was only a light breeze nymph, rather than her cousin Harpies, who could create harsher winds and sand devils and little tornadoes. She shifted so that her body was in front of Kayla's, ready to take the brunt of any force.

The hunter yelped as his face was pelted with icicles. The attacks did some damage, but not nearly enough. He threw a wooden spike at Bella and doused Art with saltwater, causing the fishman to scream in pain.
