We walked to a huge convention-type center, in the middle of town. It was used for a bunch of things; academic competitions; mock trial; the festival; church gatherings; etc. I led Em in, who looked annoyed at me, but I didn't really care. "life, believe, is not a dream
so dark as sages say;
oft a little morning rain
foretells a pleasant day.
sometimes there are cloud of gloom,
but these are transient all;
if the shower will make the roses bloom,
oh why lament its fall?"
