Instead of leaving like he usually did, Travis remained by the counter, staying out of the way of customers. When the cafe started to quiet down and no customers were coming in, Travis looked to August, waving the cup at him, "We don't have to do this you know, I'm down for a date anytime. We don't have to make this harder."

August looked over at Travis and chuckled. "But I like our game." He reminded as he looked at him. He hummed and went out into the dining area and began to sweep. "I enjoy making you work for it. It will be all worth it in the end. Besides, did I say anything about a date, I just said this game was to get my number." He reminded Travis as he looked over at him.

Travis paused,a frown slipping onto his lips, "so what, this is just a game to you?" He asked, his voice quiet.

August looked at him as he rose an eyebrow. "Wasn't it always a game, a fun way to get my phone number?" He spoke as he looked at him.

"There's nothing fun about you making me jump through hoops just to be Able to contact you," Travis sighed, "I didn't say anything at first because I thought you were just joking, but you're serious aren't you? You'd really make me come in however many times just to get your phone numbe."

August looked at Travis. "I thought you liked our game." He spoke as he watched him. "Well, I don't want you crying over it." He spoke as he handed him a paper. "There's my full phone number." He explained. He got out of his apron and name-tag and grabbed his bag. "I need to get to class, you should to." He spoke as he left the shop.

"I'm not sure I want it anymore," Travis frowned, placing the paper on the counter. He adjusted his bag on his shoulder, turning and walking out of the shop. The campus was a blur to him as he sped up, at a jog by the time he reached his lecture hall.

August wasn't phased when Travis did not want his number anymore. He just shrugged. It was up to him. The paper was cleared away and thrown out quickly. He entered his class and got to work for the day. Soon he went back to his dorm and plopped down upon his bed. He yawned.

Travis trudged through the rest of his classes, his spirits weighed down by the growing realization it wasn't going to work out with August. He wandered back into his dorm, seeing his roommate with his boyfriend cuddling on the couch and sighed, going to the small kitchenette to get a can of soda.

Travis' roommate looked over as Travis entered. He gave his boyfriend a kiss on the cheek and murmured a quick 'brb' to him before he got off the couch and walked into the kitchen to see Travis. He leaned against the counter. "Did it not work out?" He asked him gently. He knew the answer but he needed to hear it from Travis first.
