kat hummed softly. "well, think of it, as cliche as it is, as a new chapter." she declared with a smile. "sometimes, the stuff in it is unexpected, but that's the way the author wanted the book to go."

marcella nodded. “i need to get my appointment sometime.” she shrugged as they reached the spa. as soon as you stepped in, you felt somewhat relaxed.

kat nodded her head. "my doctor was really great, i can give you her number?" she suggested, smiling when they arrived at the spa. entering, she spoke her name, having made a reservation earlier.

marcella nodded. “sounds great. thanks.” she said with a smile. “what are we doing first?” she asked kat, rubbing her small bump happily.

kat grinned at marcella. "pedicures and face masks!" she declared happily as they were led to the pedicure chairs, slipping her shoes off before climbing up and dipping her feet into the warm water.

marcella grinned, sitting in the chair and dipping her feet into the water. she closed her eyes as the cucumbers were placed on her eyes and the mask was spread on her face.

kat let out a relaxed sigh at the combination of the warm water and the mask that was now on her face. "see? relaxing." she whispered happily to marcella, leaning back in her chair.

marcella nodded. “yeah..” she murmured, thinking about river and their future baby. “i can’t believe my baby’s aunt and uncle are only going to be a few years older.”

kat laughed quietly. "yeah, it's weird. my kids will only be a few hours younger than their aunt and uncle." she spoke with amusement, enjoying the relaxing spa already. "i wonder if maddox will be the protective type." she mused.

marcella laughed. “most likely. he loves those girls so much.” she said with a grin. “river, definitely.” she spoke, taking the cucumbers off her eyes to see maddox walk in with nora resting in the crook of his arm. “kat! do you have any of the baby formula in your purse! we’re all out.” he said. “and the grocery store hasn’t opened yet.”
