Already Lucas was regretting coming to the gardens. Had it not been for the threats then the eldest Renier son would have no doubt still been hold up in the study, he could feel Akira’s gaze the moment he made himself known. And he ignored it refusing to look at her for even a second to acknowledge her presence there. Instead choosing to give his entire focus into zeroing in on the trio who had joined her and her lady in waiting to help keep from looking at the human princess. The trio who indeed turned out to be exactly who the Renier was worried about them being based on the maid’s descriptions. Hopefully she would reach Rigel and he’d be here sooner rather then later. Should something brake out then Lucas would need everything he had to handle Adrian alone, forget the facts that the Twins were with him and Akira was here perfectly in harm’s reach. “Lucas Renier, eldest son of the family.”, the dark haired pureblood introduced himself reaching out a hand to take Adrian’s offered one in normal greeting, “Do not concern yourself with intruding, the town is large and can be quite complex if one does not know his way around. My staff was in the right to offer you three a brake here for a time.”

However his attention on Adrian didn’t last all that long once a certain female broke in effectively stealing his attention. Esmerelda. Orion’s sister.

Esmerelda was quick to pounce on him, he felt her one of her arms wrap around the back of his neck while the other moved towards his chest. Yet the male remained calm as he turned his attention to her watching the female who now held him in an embrace. His own arms even going to wrap around her waist to keep her closer to him. “Dear Esmerelda, so Orion decided to bring you along with him then? I must say you are as beautiful as ever, not a day out of your prime it seems. Your brother has done well in caring for you it seems.”, Lucas spoke as he moved one hand from her waist to hold it out for her, “May I be so bold as to kiss the hand of such a lovely lady?”

"Nay- Orion had nothing to do with my presence here today. It was At- it was my sire's idea. He insisted that he wished to be in the presence of his two closest allies today, for having not seen us in so long." her voice had a strange tinge to it, and an abnormal attempt at sweetness. "Though I see your compliments are just as flattering as I remember them. Of course, Esmerelda was smiling, hazel eyes locked on Lucas. You have my full permission to be as bold as you would like" though no sooner had she spoken those words than her smile had fell, replaced by a confused- and slightly irate- look.

Based on their interactions, she had a feeling Esmerelda was a vampire. Yet, for whatever reason, seeing Esmerelda embracing Lucas, and being embraced in returned, stirred something in Akira. Though she was likely imagining it, something about that embrace seemed a bit intimate- and, knowing fully well she would never admit it even to herself, a part of her wished it was she that Lucas was holding like that. Therefore, as soon as Esmerelda had given Lucas her permission, Akira had abruptly stood up, without thinking, and reached out. Now, her hand resided on the wrist to Lucas's hand that was held out for Esmerelda. Her gaze was elsewhere, now, avoiding his- but her intent was clear enough.

"Oh?" Esmerelda uttered, unwilling taking a few steps back from Lucas with narrowed eyes- thus removing his arm from her waist. Her tone remained curt and polite for the most part, but there were underlying tones of distaste as she looked the human princess from head to toe. " Well, just who exactly is this little morsel? She doesn't appear to be just another one of your staff- nor was she introduced as such." the vampireess' gaze stayed locked on Akira, but she made no obvious movements towards her.

" Very well then, if that is what you wish my love...but enough about that." he stood then, returning to the chair he had been in prior to her wake, folding his hands over his lap. " I apologize for the issue with the window while you were stirring to conciousness- I had forgotten how sensitive you fletchlings can be. That being said, I can't take you outside quite yet- not even if we were able to walk around freely in this neck of the woods. Therefore, let us take some time to talk, yes? I'm sure you have many questions, and as your mentor and the one who turned you, it is my duty to answer them to the best of my abilities."

After the pair separated Aralynn scooted back until her back was against the headboard, “First things first is where I am. The last thing I remember is the throne room and then nothing, only to wake up here. I guess it isn’t Emberelic.” For the first time since waking the blonde got a good look at her surroundings. She’d been more focused on easing the rawness of her throat in the first minutes of returning to the waking world to be wondering about where she was, or paying attention to anything else. Now that the hunger had been curbed and the veil from her thoughts lifted, Aralynn could better at organising her thoughts. The girl also noted her dress was gone, replaced by a much simpler soft nightgown instead. “I am never sleeping for that long again.”

“Easiest way to describe them sir.”, agreed James. Then, “Are there any specifics you wish to know about Master Rigel?”

The dark haired vampire was fluttering about as usual, or rather in a flutter. The beautiful dog, his dog, was only a week or two away from having the pups. She'd slowed down exponentially therefore. She slept and ate a lot more, drank more maybe. He seemed more nervous the closer it got to time. Of course he was nervous, as his dog had never had puppies before.

The dark haired boy nodded, then blushed and blinked. "I, um...favorite things, I guess; I'd ask what his favorite food is, but...I mean, he doesn't exactly eat food does he. Um...so just, other favorite things like book or animal or whatever, if you know them."

“I only speak the truth when it comes to a Lady, you of all should know that by now Esme.”, said Lucas as he made to take Esmeralda’s hand. Though before their finger tips could even touch, the pureblood found himself unable to take the female vampire’s hand as his own was grasped. A hand as equally small and delicate as Esmeralda’s latched itself firm around the wrist of his outstretched hand stopping the gesture. A hand which he did not need to guess at the owner for he knew exactly to whom it belonged to. Lucas just stood there not daring to move despite his mind telling him to pull away from his apparent captor. The other part of his mind was saying look at her yet the General did neither. Opting to let let his hand go limp and hang their in her grasp instead of taking action.

When Esmeralda spoke again questioning about Akira, Lucas became animated again but still didn’t withdraw from the princess’s grasp. Nor pay her mind. “You do not recognise her because she is not one of my staff. This is the Lady Akira, she and her brother are my charges and so are living with the family and have been so for a little while now. Her family came upon hard times and so both were entrusted to me for the time being.”, he explained keeping the largest details out of the conversation. Then, “But please. Do not let my presence interrupt all that much. I had only wished to come and see if my hunch about our visitors were true or not for myself.”

“You know, if that is the sort of thing you wanted to know you could have just asked. I would have answered.” Rigel stood having walked into the stable while the two humans were talking. Coming to a stop, the blonde reached for his belt unstrapping the sheath from his belt. Afterwards he tossed it towards Haruna, “Here. Carry this. I assume you understand the basics of swordplay yes? Or at least that you stick the pointy end into your opponent.”, the youngest Renier said.

'Esme?' She thought bitterly, making no moves to free Lucas's hand from her grasp just as he didn't move to remove it.
" Is that so?" she mused. Taking a step towards Akira. " Oh, I seen now. They're from that family" her tone now held a hint of amusement, and she reached a hand towards her. " A bit odd, don't you think, for you to watch over theml? I mean, considering-" she was cut short thought it wasn't by Akira, despite the fact she had removed her hands from Lucas's as if to slap the woman's hand away. " Esmerelda" Orion spoke, flattening the patch of Akira's hair Esmerelda had been making to move, his other hand resting on her shoulder. " You are being rude"
Esmerelda in turn poutee a bit, but soon enough it returned to mischief. " Ah, I see now. So that's why you're keeping them around"


" If I may intrude" Adrian at last spoke up. [color=#BF000]" I'm most curious as to the hunch you speak of."[/color]

“Speaking of rude Orion.”, Lucas shot a side glance at the male of the duo, “I remind you that you are still strangers to my charge. It is not a gentlemen who would so casually come into physical contact with a Lady as you are. I suggest you remove you hand and see to it that your dear sister, and her tongue, is kept in check or we will have to end the pleasantries right this moment and I’ll escort the Lady inside. Besides being so close to her also means you are within arms length of me.” He didn’t want to cause a scene. He didn’t want to scar Akira anymore then he had already. But the dark haired vampire knew what Orion was capable of and would be a fool to underestimate him...any of the trio for that matter. At least that was what he convinced himself. Though in actuality the male knew that it was the simple fact another was touching the princess that bothered him. Keeping emotionless blue-grey eyes locked on the brunette brother, Lucas still answered Adrian. “The female member of my staff who came to fetch me described Orion and Esme. Hearing those descriptions I made an educated guess on just who decided to visit, we have not seen each other for some time but it is hard to forget these two once you have been fairly acquainted.”, he explained. Then he added while adjusting the cuff of one of his sleeves, “I sent that same staff member to fetch Rigel. I’m sure he would love to see you both as well, he opted to remain here instead of having to deal with mother and father for a change.”
