Curtis nodded, getting that she didn't wanna talk about it. "So uh... What do you wanna do? We could watch TV, you could use my computer, I have some books you could look at, uhm..." He thought about it more. "Jeez, how do I entertain myself? I don't have much of an option do I?" He fiddled his thumbs together, almost seeming nervous. Curtis had never really hosted any friends. Let alone his soul mate. Were him and Lexa friends? Probably not.

"Probably in my parents room. We could go in the backyard and play with him if you want?" He stood up and walked down the hall. From Curtis' room you could hear Curtis baby talking. "Such a good boy!! Come on, Chubbs!" He came back in like that hadn't happened. Chubbs walked over to Lexa and sniffed her a bit, before laying down next to her. Curtis smiled. "He's very calm when inside but he loves to go O-U-T-S-I-D-E. Sorry I have to spell it, if I say certain words he freaks out."

Lexa smiled. She reached over to pet Chubbs. "Hey, cutie," she said to him, rubbing his head. Suddenly she grinned mischievously. "Hey Chubbs, do you want to go outside?"

Curtis chuckled as Chubbs' ears raised up ten stories. Then the dogs tail began to wag as he jumped up and barked and whimpered. He ran to the back door and barked madly. "You go ahead and let him out, I'll go grab his toys. Meet you out there in a sec?" He left the room and went into the garage. He came back with a ball, pull toy, and several other throwing things. He walked into the back yard.

Lexa was running around the yard with Chubbs. He chased her as she ran from one side to the other. Sometimes she whipped around and chased him. Lexa was laughing for the first time in a while, actually having fun.

Curtis grinned. He was happy to hear Lexa laugh. It wasn't an awkward laugh or anything, either. It was a pleasant and charming laugh. One he hoped to hear again. He set the toys on the patio, then sat in a chair and continued watching. Chubbs barked occasionally. He was panting pretty heavily, but not in a bad way.

Eventually they both started to get tired. Lexa dropped to the ground and lied stretched out on the grass. Chubbs came over and started to lick her face. Lexa laughed, shoving him away. "Ack! Stop!" She wiped her face with her sleeve.

"That's what dogs do, you can't just tell them to stop!" Curtis walked over and sat with the two. Eventually Chubbs calmed down and laid his head on Lexas stomach and had a snooze. "That looked like a lot of fun. Chubbs doesn't get out much anymore, since I'm so busy with high school and extracurricular activities." He pet the dog slowly. "Do you need something to drink? You look pretty wiped."
