The other is far crueler a fate; dolled up and treated to a nice meal by the king before being sent out into the royal gardens to be hunted for sport. "

Though spoken nonchalantly, the implications of the potential horrors could be easily envisioned.

"Without a vampire directly by their side, they might as well have targets on their backs. "

A hefty huff as Haruna mentioned Orion's need to be taken down a notch.

" As much as I wish it were so, no it is not. I'll be fighting to survive just as much as you; Atlas does not take kindly to anything he considers a betrayal. My only saving grace here is just how long I've been by his side. The goal will be to simply get through the night, go along with whatever schemes he has, and then part ways for good at the end of it if he'll let me. But enough about that."

Dusting off her dress she stood up, looking back over her shoulder as she made to wander to a different part of the gardens. " You had best be hurry back to the manor. Your darling Rigel may get worried and cause a fuss. "

" How far? Well, not quite as far as I was able to when our fates were intertwined from our bound souls. I'd say about half of the distance back to the Reiner family estate without taking a break. Any further and I would need some time to rest and recover my energy. Why do you ask?"

Aralynn had grabbed one of the far older looking geological offerings from the table laying it out so it was visible in it's entirety. The girl wasn't an expert on maps. She wasn't a General or even a soldier. But the Changeling was still fairly educated thanks to her upbringing and had watched grown men sit discussing maps before more then once.

"I'm trying to narrow down the area and distance he could have traveled before he came accross you. If we can do that then maybe what he's afraid of is someplace in that area. If nothing else it should give us a okay starting point to look. I'd say we could track down the last Thorn he created but that's you so..." Aralynn tapped her fingers on the table letting her eyes roam the map as she then went and turned the page searching for where Argentum used to be. Or any sign of other near by places around its location.

"I'm not great with maps though."

" Well in that case you need just recall what Lucas said back at the estate. 'Twas he that dethroned Adrian to begin with, thus causing the progenitor to run to Argentum where he found me. "

Grabbing a feather and some ink, Al marked on the map the location of Runemeth's castle and what was formerly Argentum.

" Which means he traveled, while mortally injured, from about here- to somewhere over here. This is assuming he didn't make any additional stops along the way; which is doubtful. His mind was likely on one track at that time. Who knows how far he could travel when at full strength in his own body. " Al sighed, looking at the distance on the map.

"Perhaps we should've questioned Lucas more about that night, or even as to what Adrian and the twins had been doing at his manor to begin with."

The dark haired boy shuddered a bit as he listened to what she said. Hunted for sport...he didn't like the sound of that at all. He wondered how many had fallen victim to that, as she mentioned there'd been stray humans in the past. He wasn't a stray human... not that any of them would know that. Only Esmeralda would know of that fact. He shook his head back and forth a couple times. He then listened as she finished speaking about the humans being hunted...Didn't the vampires want to co exist peacefully with the humans? The fact Icarus was half human had made it seem so. Lucas being with his sister, and Rigel with him, also made it seem so.

Clearly their king didn't want such things however...if her words were anything to go by. Esmeralda said the king sent the human to be hunted. He noticed the sound she made when he mentioned taking Orion down a notch. He found himself nearly smiling as she agreed. It was good to know she seemed annoyed at her brother as well. He nodded to her and said "I...hope you can get out...You haven't been mean to me at all, so...you're nice to be around." His words were true, he actually hoped she could get away. He sighed as she then mentioned Rigel, and said "Oh, yeah. We have to give the girls their masks," he said, then quickly "We just got them masks for fun."

He then thought of something.

"how do i...get in contact with you again once I've got the dress? I mean, I can't assume you'll just be in your room, seeing as you're out here right now." He didn't want to have to search the whole house for her, either...

“So in other words he may hold the key or some serious information that could help.”, sighed Aralynn hanging her head a bit at the realisation, “We weren’t thinking. Asking questions, especially ones specific to this, just didn’t cross any of our minds at the time we were there. I was too surprised about what we did find out and you were in no mental capacity to ask such things. But now we know and our minds are clearer and more focused then ever. Should we send a letter perhaps? Maybe not one asking for the information we need, but some sort of meeting? A wish for us to repay their kindness in putting us up that night?”

" No, Lucas is too clever to fall for such a simple ruse. It would be better to express our gratitude while also politely expressing that we have questions that need answers. " At least they were in agreement that Lucas would have vital information.

"Unfortunately I doubt there's enough time before the ball to arrange such a meeting; but we may be able to question him at the event, in a roundabout way. Regardless we're going to have to go along with Adrian's schemes for the time being. Including the meetup he wants me to attend tomorrow. Naturally, you'll be going as well I'd presume. We're to escort Orion to a meeting with a Lycan as his bodyguards. Adrian said it's doubtful anything will happen, but it's more of a precautionary measure than anything. "

The dark haired boy smiled and said "I'm glad my words are appreciated. Don't worry...ill be here at sundown in two days," he said to her. Then, regardless of what shed say or think, he approached the grave. Though she'd likely say nothing at all of what he was about to do. What he did was place a hand on the gravestone, and say "Hello, Icarus. Its me...Haruna," he said, and smiled a bit. "I hope you're at peace, wherever you are..." he muttered. He, of course, believed in heaven and things like that, but did vampires? Shaking his head, he backed up and said "See you soon, Esmeralda." He then began to hurry back to the others. She'd said Rigel might raise an alarm or such, after all, so he hurried back towards them.

A scowl crossed Aralynn’s face like she’d just tasted something disgusting but she didn’t say anything on it. Truth be told she figured that be the unfortunate case. It was the idea of doing or going along with anything that Adrian had thought up in the meantime more then displeased her, yet she’d have to rein it in. Luckily she’d have Al to keep her focus upon and make the other vampire’s chores somewhat bearable.

“I’m glad I don’t have to declare I twill be accompanying you on this and any other endeavour until such a time I see fit to stay home. Unless you wish to run the risk of me hunting you down that is.”

Putting aside how defensive about him she’d been as a human, the Changeling just about lost her sire once. That wasn’t going to happen again. Not ever.

However. When Al mentioned that they’d be precautionary escorts for Orion…..

A chunk of the edge of the table which the materials sat on was gouged out as if stricken by a pair of claws. A act which sent splinters of wood into the air before they ended clattering to the floor. Though Aralynn herself had done nothing but shout.
