indentfigspots nodded thoughtfully. "that could be, definitely," she mused. "i used to travel for a bit, before i found highgarden. i'd heard of a lot of clans in passing, mostly as a warning not to cross into their territory or take their prey - the usual stuff. but i never really spoke to the clan cats or asked what clan they were actually from," she said. figspots paused, taking in the sights around them. it still amazed her how the clans could come together, from all of their walks of life, under the full moon. she still wasn't sure that she understood highgarden's gods, or starclan, or any of the other warrior ancestors, but if it brought peace, then she didn't have anything bad to say about all of it. "anyway, i had no idea how big some of the clans were, or how many there are. not until i joined highgarden, and i see now how much i missed out on, being on my own. do you like swiftclan? what's it like?" at that, figspots sat back and listened politely as the other tom, tourbillonpelt, began to speak.
QUICKCLAN
cyanstar | tom, leader, 78m, tagged: peridotstar
indentfrom almost as far back as cyanstar could remember during his time in quickclan, hazeclan and quickclan had a close-knit alliance. first with hazestar, and then with pantherstar, there was a deep security that ran the length of their borders and beyond, crossing into deep friendships and romances between the clan cats, and cyanstar found that he knew the hazeclan scent nearly as well as quickclan's. throughout many seasons, the change of leaders, the most difficult of wars, the clans had been there for one another, and cyanstar felt that it was only naturally for the alliance to continue and carry on. so cyanstar welcomed peridotstar, nodding along when she began to speak about hazeclan. "i'm very glad to hear that," he said, his tone genuine. "and quickclan is well, thank you. falconflight and i just recently welcomed our youngest kits into the clan, actually. he said that it might be time that we stop expanding our family, as if he isn't enjoying the time in the nursery with them," cyanstar said, purring at the thought of his mate and kits, before he turned his bright blue eyes back to peridotstar. "anyway, i wanted to say that i'm glad that hazeclan came to tonight's gathering. i'm glad that you're here, peridotstar. i'm glad that you're hazeclan's leader, i know that if the dark forest put you here, you deserve it."
lycheewings | tom, medicine cat, 20m, tagged: rootwake
indentthough he tried to always put on a brave face and smile through his own misfortunes and pain, lycheewings was no strangers to mourning and grief. along with losing friends in quickclan, he had also lost two of his littermates and one of his fathers to various illnesses and injuries over the seasons. and though asphodelstorm did his best to protect and care for lycheewings and dragonsoar, there was only so much a father could do for his kits - lycheewings had grown used to grief, and, if anything, it fueled him. it was part of the reason why he had trained so hard. "it's unfair," lycheewings agreed, dipping his head respectfully as rootwake spoke about her mentors and their various loses. "but i don't think there's anyway around it. i think it's the unfortunate part of clan life, and maybe of any life... is that it can't last forever. and there are some things that we just can't heal away. but i'd really like to try my best, and i think that you do too, otherwise you wouldn't feel so strongly like you do. and i admire you for that, i really do," lycheewings added, daring to bump his shoulder companionably against rootwake's. "i think we could be good friends, you and i. maybe we can support each other, even from afar. because it is hard, and maybe we could both use a friend that understands it better than our other clanmates do." however, at the mention of the neighborhood, lycheewings seemed to shake off their previous conversation, his whiskers twitching with curiosity. "i think we have a few cats from the neighborhood in quickclan, actually. did you know raven, sparrow, or crow?"
thrushpaw | tom, apprentice, 9m, tagged: beetlepaw
indentcoming from quickclan, thrushpaw was used to manuvering through large groups of cats, using his smaller size to his advantage. while warriors towered above him on all sides, thurshpaw moved expertly through them, keeping his tail tucked close to keep from getting stepped on. though his father, cyanstar, had warned thrushpaw to stay with rootpaw and keep from getting under a warrior's paws, the young tom knew that his father shouldn't have been expecting him to follow each and every rule. he was given the honor of joining the gathering as a reward for his hard work in training over the past several moons, and it paid off. soon, he would be a full quickclan warrior. soon, he and his siblings would be traveling every inch of the moorland, scaring away intruders, fighting off giant foxes, and he couldn't imagine anything better.
indenthowever, thrushpaw was nearly knocked off his own paws when a molly bumped into him, leaving him swaying, struggling to stay on his paws. by the time he regained his balance, thrushpaw had been effectively knocked out of his thoughts, and he blinked up at the other cat. "it's alright, my mistake too," thrushpaw replied, shaking out his short white pelt. he smiled wryly. "my sister said that i was bound to get under someone's paws... so maybe we can keep this between us?if skypaw finds out, i'll never hear the end of it."
rootpaw | molly, apprentice, 8m, tagged: bear
indentrootpaw sat towards the edge of the clearing, out of the way of the larger warriors that made up the vast majority of the clan cats at the gathering. her mother had warned her about getting stepped on or crushed, and rootpaw had intended to say with thrushpaw, that is, until the other apprentice was lost to the crowd, too exciting about making a new friend from outside of the clan. and rootpaw had merely rolled her eyes, expecting little else from her denmate before she set off on her own. when she crossed paths with another apprentice-aged tom, rootpaw smiled and dipped her head politely, mindful of her mother's voice in the back of her head, telling her to remember her manners and not make a cat from another clan upset with her. "hi there. my name's rootpaw and i'm from quickclan, best clan in the whole world. what's your name?"
