Lexa bit her lip, and glanced down. She didn't know how to swim. No one taught her. She went back onto the beach and sat down on the sand. She watched Curtis play with Chubbs, smiling sadly. She didn't want to make a fool of herself in front of all the strangers here. She'd be better just watching.

He finally caught chubbs, and dunked him underwater. He then waddled through the water back to lexa, and Chubbs followed slowly. "Hey, you good?" he asked, then sat with Lexa. "You seem sad."

"Lots," Curtis admitted. "I know I'm gonna feel all this exercise tomorrow morning; I never do stuff like this. I think I'm crazy for joining track." he looked at the water. "Tennis is easy, not too intense, and not popular. Perfect for me."

"Mmm. I love running. Track is the best, don't you try to tell me otherwise. You're good at it, though," she told him, giving him a smile. Lexa stood up and brushed the sand from her shorts. "Want to go for a walk? I wouldn't mind taking a look at the shops."

Curtis nodded, and stood up. He went to the outdoor showers to wash himself off a bit. It was hot enough outside for him to dry naturally by the time they got to the any shops. Together he walked with Lexa and Chubbs, and lead them inside a small shop. This one was filled with shells and glass art.

Lexa was smiling, looking at all the merchandise. She thought that it was all pretty, the shells and the glass art. She slid a finger along the surface of one of the abstract figures. It was very smooth. The glass was bubbled with colour. She had no idea how it was made. She tool her time, examining everything in the store. When she was done, she smiled at Curtis, took his hand and led him to another shop.

Curtis smiled and laced his fingers with hers, and lead her to the next shop. It was a large, red and white building. Entering, there was just about any candy you could imagine. Along with 60 something I'd cream flavors. He instantly remembered this one from his childhood "someone in the mood for sweets? If you want something don't hesitate to ask!"

Lexa smiled when he laced his fingers with hers. She was with awe when they went inside the candy shop. She had never known that there was this many types of candy before. "You don't need to buy me anything. You've already done so much for me, more than you know," she told him. She leaned forward and lightly kissed him on his cheek.

Curtis' cheeks turned a light pink. "I'm serious, get whatever you want!" He went to a hard candy section, and started filling the bags with some carmel candies. A large sign said "$1 for 1 lb". It wasn't famous candy like snickers or kit-kats. The shop was filled with home made knock offs. That, in Curtis' opinion, were much better than the store brand candies. He then went to the chocolate section and rubbed his hands together; as if he was planning something evil. But in actual fact, he was just excited for some peanut clusters.
