History: There was no shortage of love or peace in the Everlyn family and as the only child, Rosalina was the receiver of all her parents had to offer. Such love and care created a very well rounded princess, one eager to lead as a queen when the time came. However there was one thing the kingdom lacked, and that was a well rounded and agile army as her father had dismissed quite a few over a period of time. Now many were threatening to uprise against the crown and danger was too close to home.
Personality: Rosalina is a very levelheaded and determined leader of her country. Whilst the decisions she gets to make for Avylon is minor, she takes her time to choose what is best for her people. She takes pride in her position as princess and uses every opportunity to become more educated for the good of the land. Around those she is close to she is a fun loving girl, much different than the serious leader she portrays to the public.
Likes: Reading in the library, drinking a hot cup of coffee next to the fireplace, walks in the forest, horseback riding, and pretty gems.
Dislikes: Ignorance, getting sweaty, not being listened to, and caviar.

To some it can be intimidating, to others it is sign of protection. But to Bahram wearing paladins armour is just a ghost of what he used to be. Made of strong metal with a gray tinge with a gray cape clasped just under his throat and his sword on his right side. Underneath is a broad shouldered man standing at about 6โ€™2 with a head of dark brown hair and intense grey eyes. He wears a simple brown tunic with pants to match.

Not the most friendly of people, Bahram is what most would call an introvert. A man of few words, observing, thinking before doing. He doesn't much like crowds and would prefer being alone over having other people follow him around as he would put it. Aloof and somewhat brash, he speaks his mind which more often then not gets him into some kind of trouble but he does know when to speak and when to hold his tongue. Bahram to most might seem noble but he has lost his way. He no longer visits his temples or shrines as would be expected of a paladin. There is a sadness inside him that makes him cold. Bahram does still hold onto some of his training but only because he feels he has to. If he lets himself go completely he fears he will not come back from it.

    ๐‡๐ˆ๐’๐“๐Ž๐‘๐˜ โ”€โ”€
For the first little bit of his life, Bahram lived a rather comfortable, normal life. In the alpine forests of Traford in the northern parts of the kingdom, he went to school and helped his mother whenever he could. He had always had a knack for fighting, first with sticks, later with knives. However at the age of 9 his life drastically changed forever. In the beginning his town and many like it were attacked by a neighbouring rival kingdom. The king that ruled over Bahramโ€™s residence ordered all children to be taken in for training as soon as possible. That meant he and most of his friends left as their homes lay in ruins. It took years but the war had lasted years. Bahram had since shown promise, one of the chosen few gifted enough to walk the path of a paladin. When he was ready and old enough he was sent to battle. Upholding his teachings and his oath, he fought for his land and his king. Years of war went on still and Bahram kept his word. Later when the war ended, his side victorious the king had congratulated all that helped aid him and those who fought and never made it back. But that was all they got. Bahram like many others like him were cast aside, left to a kingdom in shambles while the king sat on his throne, untouched. 26 with no purpose nor life path, his compass askew, Bahram left to his home town. There he found nothing but heartache. The last time he seen his family he was around the age 20 or 21 he couldnโ€™t remember. His mother had passed on. With nothing left for him Bahram left. For two years he drifted from place to place, sleeping in old boarding houses, travelling through forests and over mountains. Until one day during his stay at a boarding house, he received a letter from the king specifically addressed to him. His presence is required, he must attend. 28 at present and still upholding his training, Bahram ventures to the kings castle to find out what is needed of him.

Bahram has a bay coated quarter horse with a blaze and four white stockings who currently remains nameless as he never seen a point in doing so. The horse is his current travel companion, carrying everything Bahram currently owns.

War had ravaged Avylon over two years ago and the kingdom had still been struggling to recover, yet it seemed as if the people were loosing more respect for the crown ever sense. The weight of fixing the kingdom's structure had laid heavily on Rosalina's shoulders as she felt that it was her responsibility to help her father revise the kingdom and restore it to its former glory. Yet it seemed as if her father had different ideas as more and more rumors of an uprising were reaching the royal court. In fact he wanted to ship her off to an undisclosed location with a knight she had never even met before. This caused quite a few arguments between father and daughter, yet she soon accepted her fate and now was awaiting the arrival of the male. The female had gotten packed the night prior and she had quite a few pieces of luggage that would be going with her. She wouldn't be surprised if the knight would get exasperated with her rather quickly as some would probably say she is quite overbearing. Alas she couldn't make presumptions on a person she hadn't met, so all she would have to do is wait.

It had been a long time since Bahram had seen a castle. In fact he remembered being stationed there, once upon a time. He was younger then. Now years later he finds himself back. It brought on a strange feeling as his horse carried on its way towards large stone walls with gates to match. A place familiar yet unknown at the same time. This walled city was a major hub for people and otherworldly beings alike. It was a place to live, a place to trade, a place to make coin and it did not go unnoticed by Bahram that he received a few strange glances from passerby as they passed him on the dirt road. It must have been odd to them to see a knight in the flesh. Only a handful seemed to wear their armour still for whatever reasons they may have. He would not lay his armour to rest though. Without it there was nothing left of him. Ending up on the wrong side of the right path was something he did not want to pursue in life, although at times he found himself in the brink of doing so. His armour served as a reminder, a life with no purpose was better than a life in a tavern.

Passing through the large gates now Bahram wasted no time heading towards the large castle where he was to meet the king. He kept the scroll in one of his saddle bags, sure the armed guards would question him. Once he got close, more gates awaited him. Bahram dismounted his horse taking a hold of the reins, leading the large creature by his side to the outside of the castle gates.

    โ€œWho goes there!โ€

Shouted a guard from a lookout tower above. The knight halted promptly, looking through the visor of his helmet up at the tower waiting for another guard to walk up. Almost immediately another guard approached Bahram, โ€œState your business here, knight.โ€

From one of his saddle bags Bahram grabbed the scroll he received close to 24 hours prior and held it out for the guard to take. The guard was obviously suspicious while skimming the rolled up papers, but Bahram paid the man no mind. He was just doing his duty. Calm and patient, he waited while the guard looked over the scroll. โ€œMeeting with the king eh?โ€ Bahram gave the guard a single nod. โ€œVery well, sir Bahram of Traford.โ€ The guard giving the watchmen from the tower a wave, and the heavy stone gates began to open.

The knight took back his scroll, replacing it with the horses reins in the guardโ€™s held out hand. He couldnโ€™t bring his friend inside the castle itself and someone needed to watch the beast. With a sour look from the guard Bahram went forth into the bustling small streets within the walls for the alabaster stone stairs leading to the castle doors.

A soft knock on the princess's chamber doors brought Rosalina out of her daydream of her future, bringing her attention back to the matter at hand. "Come in," the female called out, her voice soft and gentle as she awaited to see who was behind the door. Upon her approval the door swung open and the head of her maid had appeared, a gentle smile on the others face although it didn't quite meet her eyes. "Your father has requested your presence in the throne room M'lady," the maid informed the other, her voice laced with sadness as she wasn't quite ready to watch her mistress leave with such short notice. "Thank you my dear, I will be right on down." The princess replied, her words as somber as the others. The two had become rather close as they had practically grew up together as her father believed having a maid around the same age would be beneficial to her up bringing. Alas the two couldn't stay and reminisce of their past as her father had become quite impatient and rather adamant of her leaving before the clock struck midnight.

The female stood up and gently smoothed out her dress before making her way down to the throne room, her heart racing with both excitement and uneasiness for the future. As she approached the large wooden oak door that lead into the throne room a castle guard opened it for her, gently murmuring a pleasant greeting as she passed. The female walked up to her throne besides her father's, which was quite smaller in size. The two conversed about the future plans, although her father still wouldn't reveal her destination quite yet which caused the princess to become quite irritable rather quickly. Soon the conversation soured and the two fell into uncomfortable silence as they waited for her new personal knight to make their acquaintance.

Soon a rather loud rasp rang out against the wooden door and the two royals stood up straighter as the male made his entrance. As her father introduced the two of them the female remained quiet, carefully studying the figure before her. Soon the king began to speak of the task at hand while Rosalina's attention turned to watching her luggage be loaded out into the carriages. It was as if her whole life was being packed up within a few boxes and it cast a somber mood on the princess as she thought of such a thing. She wasn't quite sure how long she would remain at this undisclosed location and the least she could do was hope that the knight and her could get along at least on a professional level.

With a hardy knock on the wooden oak doors, Bahram straightened his posture as he prepared to make his entrance. As if like clock work the doors were opened by two other guards standing inside, revealing a large and lavish throne room from within. Light from the day spilling inwards as Bahram began to walk along the deep burgundy carpet that covered the middle part of the floor. An uncomfortable silence filled the room, the soft clanks of his armour could be heard as he made his way down and stopped just before the two thrones.

The knight dipped his head respectfully to both royals before him placing his right hand over his heart. "Your majesty." He first addressed the king, "Your highness." to the princess soon after before straightening his posture once more, folding his arms behind his back. "I received your letter stating the importance of my presence. How may I be of service?" His voice clear but remaining respectful. Had it been two years? To Bahram it felt like an eternity since he was called upon for anything by any royal family. After drifting for that period of time, he was rather surprised that he kept up with this part of training but he was glad. There was absolutely no need to be disorderly here, although he was never much of a disorderly man to begin with.

His focus was on his king who began to explain the current situation in the capital of Avylon. Already there was talk of an uprising. A dangerous situation indeed. Angry commoners were unpredictable and if their numbers were great they could do some damage. Although his focus remained on the king grey eyes glanced at the luggage being carried through the room. The king ended by explaining that he wanted someone to escort the princess to a safer place to ensure her safety. This was why Bahram was summoned to the royal court. The weight of it not unbearable, but the knight had to wonder. Why him?

"I have a question your majesty, if I may?" Bahram spoke up. The king gave him the go ahead. "Why do you chose me? Surly you have more suitable nobleman in your court." Yes, he'd won a few battles. Endured the hardship that came with war, but was that truly enough? Generals and the high command had been in multiple wars. Was he the only option?

Perhaps it was not a question of worth, but a longing to remain leading a solitary life. He was not a tool to be used and left in the tool shed only to be called upon when needed again but he supposed to them that was what he was. These thoughts he kept inside however. He was not a fool. Saying such things aloud would cause a greater detriment to him.

The princess offered the paladin a polite smile at his greeting whilst carefully judging his character as best she could, yet it was quite hard with his face being hidden by his knightly garb. Rosalina longed to see his expression to her fathers words as it would help her quickly determine his attitude towards her and his work. She knew little about the male already except he had served under the kingdom a few years back before her father began to dismiss those he deemed unnecessary for the time being. This was rather frustrating for the young princess, especially in cases such as these when knights were returning after years of no service as she wouldn't expect them to remain trained nor loyal to a kingdom that had cast them aside. Besides where was their grand army now? Certainly going through rigorous training to get both new and old recruits back into the routine of war, if her father hadn't downsized there was quite a high chance these insurrections wouldn't be such a threat upon Avylon.

Alas as of late there was not much the queen to be could do on the matter as her father simply wasn't quite ready to give the reins over to his daughter. Deep down the princess knew it was because she had not been married yet and although he would never admit it, her father believed that war was a mans affair even if it meant the duties would go to someone not of his own blood. Yet there was still hope in the princess's heart as she knew once she was queen there was nothing that could stop her from running the kingdom the way that she wanted to, and surely not a man could.

The female resumed listening as she heard the knight ask a question, one she had been telling her father would come up when tasking dismissed knights with new roles. Her attention shifted back to her father with a slightly smug expression upon her face as she watched him mull over the answer in his thoughts. "Bahram, you know the wilderness as well as it knows you, you are young and quite successful. And on top of that, I trust you with my daughters life which is why you were chosen. You won't let your emotions get the best of you, and that is exactly what I need in this situation." The king answered, his voice laced with sincerity as he looked upon the male standing before him. "Now do you have any other questions or may I send you on your way?" The king questioned as he was well aware of the setting sun in the distance.

Rosalina was rather shocked with how well her father had worded her answer and she was sure her expression reflected that. However she could tell he was quite serious on why the knight was chosen which sent a wave of reassurance over the elf as she realized she was truly in good hands. Certainly her father wouldn't give her to someone he didn't trust, time was taken to choose her protector and this was a decision she would trust was in her best interest.

The knight could feel the princess' eyes on him, catching the polite smile she offered at his greeting. That to him was a good sign if he ever saw one. Although he wouldn't doubt that she herself had her own doubts. Thankfully holding on to his training was paying off if it hadn't already. There was still hesitation in his mind however. With the luggage being taken out one by one, it was as if he had no choice. But he knew there was no choice. This was what the king expected of him. This was what his king had tasked him with. Pushing all previous thoughts aside, he stood stoic. Why go against what he was taught now? No, he was bound in servitude until his last breath, to obey his king's every command. The sincerity was not lost on him.

"Yes your majesty." Bahram replied with a curt nod. There was one more question on his mind just as important to the last. "Yes.. where am I to take the princess?" Bahram knew quite well the lay out of the land of Avylon and a few destinations popped up in his mind. Unsure if he should even suggest such things, as was not an appropriate thing to do. Although in cases like these Bahram knew it better to say what was on his mind then risk there being a faulty plan. Time was of the essence, Bahram was aware they were loosing day light.

The wheels in his brain beginning to turn, his mind in motion with the details of his knew role. The kingdom of Avylon was not minuscule by any means. He could agree with the enemies of the past, conquering Avylon would be a major asset to any neighbouring kingdom bringing with it the addition of trading routes, fertile land, and precious minerals. He was figuring out the safest possible route to take. Not an easy assignment without a full map at hand.

"If I may offer a few suggestions?" The knight stood still as the king remained silent for a moment. Bahram felt at this time, it would be beneficial to do so without going against the king's judgment. After the king agreed, Bahram strung together a short list of places in question. "Caer Iblen, Aldarvik, or Nevrine of Sirithell." Of these suggestions, Bahram silently hoped the king would choose Nevrine. The township there were high elves. If the king's memory served him well he would remember Nevrine was the place chosen for all battle wounded to go to and a safe heaven for those who's homes were destroyed.

The only problem this plan posed was Nevrine was the farthest away. It could be done, but he'd have to have both his mind and wits about him. The journey in some parts would be a little treacherous. Believing the pros better then the cons, Bahram awaited the king's reply. A watchful eye was kept on the princess as he stated his motives for this engagement. Her input was just as important to him.

Thankfully her fathers response seemed to satisfy the knight, at least for the time being. The females shoulders relaxed once more as the two conversed, she had been slightly unnerved by the paladin's bold question. Yet at the same time she could not blame him and quite admired his boldness, maybe there was something she could learn from the male, what had her father said his name was? Bahram? She believed so, yet she would make sure there was a proper introduction between herself and him, just to make sure.

Upon his next question her attention turned back to her father, finally she would learn of where she would spend the next few undisclosed number of days of her life. Yet the expression on the kings face was telling to the princess, he had not planned so far ahead had he? A frustrated sigh escaped from the princess's lips, he was quite quick to uproot her from her life as the princess without an actual plan. Quite typical of her father as there were quite a few items he had no plan for, yet she did. There were quite a few items on her agenda as a future queen, most of them included tying up loose ends her father certainly would leave.

The knight soon caught her attention once more as he furthered his boldness to offer suggestions to her father. The female winced slightly as her father often took suggestions as an insult to his intelligence, yet her father remained placid and calm. She supposed it was partially as he had no other option to take his suggestions as Bahram was likely more familiar with the kingdom's grounds than the royals were. Her father gave the male a short, curt nod, allowing the male to make his suggestions known. The princess listened carefully to the suggestions as well, perking up as she heard the suggestion of Nervine. She had spent quite a few days there as a child, learning politics, manners, and more from the high elves that had made their residence there. Besides the scenery was beautiful and relaxing, it certainly would be the best option for her out of all of the other cities that made up Avylon.

"Nevrine shall be the best option out of those, I am sure they will be quite excited to see the Princess once more, right Rosalina?" The king decided after a moment. "Yes father, Nevrine would be lovely." The female replied gently, a soft smile appearing on her lips as she looked between the two men.
