Moon lifted his head and pricked his ears at the howl. Who was that? he wondered, not recognizing the howl. He curled tighter around Leaf and growled lowly in protection of her.

Leaf awoke and felt Moon tense. "What is it?" she asked.

Moon licked her forehead, but still looked weary. "Nothing, I just heard a howl. Probably nothing." he said, trying to reassure her.

Leaf rolled her eyes. "you can tell me when something is wrong. I'm not a pup" she said teasingly. She got up and cautiously padded into the clearing.

Moon walked next to her. "I told you, I just heard a howl and I don't recognize the wolf!" he said. "I would never keep anything from you." he added, licking her ear with a smile.

Leaf laughed. She saw a few wolves in the clearing. It looked like a mother and daughter. She padded up to the two feas. She bowed. "Hello" she said politely.
