Tigerclaw's tail twitched. "Try harder next time, Bluepaw." He said, his amber eyes shining in the sunlight.
Amberpaw stood still, her tail twitching slightly. She sniffed at the air, looking for a scent of prey. She soon caught a strong scent of vole, and dropped down into a hunting crouch, putting all the weight on her haunches, like she was taught. She stood still, keeping her tail still as well, while she watched for the slightest movement. She soon saw the vole, scurrying around the base of a tree, looking for nuts. Amberpaw quietly made her way forward, her light brown tabby pelt blending in nicely with the plants. She then pounced swiftly, and killed the vole with one blow of her strong paw. Her light amber eyes shining with delight as she picked up her kill by the tail, and bounded back over to her Mentor and father.
Lionclaw nodded. "Great job Amberpaw." He said, with affection, and a hint of amusement in his eyes for his apprentice.
Tigerclaw gave an approving nod to his daughter. "Yes. Good catch." He said and looked at Bluepaw, his tail twitching. "Maybe try and get another scent, Bluepaw?" He asked his son.
