"Reaching out now for those final dreams, belief will never die."
Vela kind of fell forwards at Brumby's comment, her weight shifting suddenly to her front legs in surprise.
"What?" Her ears flashed to her neck, but were quickly loosened from their place as she coughed. Her voice was a bit hoarser than normal as she continued.
"Ugh, where did that filly go?" Her hooves stomped the small amount of snow on the ground as she became worried and agitated. Raising her partially dished face, she let out a series of shrill whinnies. Her head then ducked down with another cough and she looked to her stallion in worry.

"Drop your worries, you're gonna turn out fine."
Sandman saw the darting glances passed between his mother and her stallion. He turned his head to hide his sudden and irrational disappointment that he would not have more time with Sun. As his mother began to say good-bye, he nuzzled her quickly before she could address him and then turned to Dawn.
"Well, ready to head back, Dawn?" He asked, making sure to keep his voice upbeat, for both his and her sake.

"As your sweet dreams dissolve, I'll crash and burn."
Sun was admittedly surprised and a bit dubious. Vela had fallen out with Sun plenty of times, so much so that Vela was the one to basically chase her daughter out of the band. But then again, Sun's mother was a difficult, constantly changing mare. Next, Sun caught her stallion's gaze out of the corner of her eye and she nodded quietly. This was all good fun, but they really did need to go, she knew that.
"Ah, well, I congratulate Brumby on his tactfulness in dealing with Vela. Well, it was lovely meeting you, Dawn. But I think it's time for all of us to get back to where we belong, yeah?" She said with a smile, then turned to her son, only to be nuzzled fiercely by him before she could speak. She managed to tug on his mane a bit though, and then she turned and moved to Relic's side. But a whinny quickly drew her attention and she looked up, ears pricked and curious.

"This is it boys, this is war. What are we waiting for?"
As Marvel addressed the appaloosa then began to leave, his battle-tuned mind told him this was a perfect opportunity. Perfect for him to try and snake one of the mares present or give Marvel one last lashing. He drew himself up, then relaxed back down as he let out a sigh. Despite his hooves itching for more action, he wasn't a carefree loner any more. He was mentally gnashing his teeth in frustration, but instead of psychically doing that, he stuck his tongue out after the buckskin stallion. Seeing as his rival was out of direct range, of Shetan's voice and hooves, he turned to Haven.
"Ah, I see I'm not the only one to stalk around to try and get an advantage on the enemy. Does it surprise you then, that I'd settle down and that there would actually be mares out there that would willingly stay with me?" He tossed his head, turning to view his sleeping filly once more. The stallion snorted, the filly was not exactly bursting with potential if she got tired so easily. Snapping his silvery tail, he struck the ground once in an irate pawing fit.
Shetan huffed once more then took off. He bolted directly to his band, snorting every few strides for the entire way there. So late! It was winter. Winter! He was brimming with anger, but none of it was directed at himself. Rather, he was angry at the fact that he was so contained by this band. His herd had put binds on him, and he loathed them. But there was nothing for him to do, for at the same time he wanted his band. The rest of his anger was directed towards Marvel and the buckskin's herd. So as his mother did, he pounded his anger into the ground.
At last his anger was down from a boil to just a simmer, and he came up to his herd. His face was crumpled with thought and the remnants of his fury, but was wiped clean with surprise as he saw another mare besides Ruby in the place he had settled the herd. Not to be bothered to start a conversation, he just walked over to the mares and his foals, sniffing them all in greeting.

"*Quote pending*"
Bandy squeaked as her mother jolted her out of her sleep. The foal swiftly rose onto her legs, and impressed herself by remaining steady. Then again, she was nearly a yearling now. She looked to her mother and the mare that was not with Advocate.
"Wait, where are we going?" She asked, only the slightest bit of grogginess in her voice. Her body was tense, but slowly relaxed as she looked around her surroundings. But she was a bit nervous as to where they were going, no where seemed safe anymore. However, she still wasn't sure to feel about the attack on her by her father. In one moment she was scared out of her wits, but in the same moment, she also felt a bit.... well stronger almost. Either way, once her yearling year rolled around, she was pretty sure she was going to find out what was going to prevail, fear or strength.

"Never gonna give in, never gonna give it up, no."
Shakil shook his mane out, snorting as he did so.
"Well, Cherokee, I'm not entirely sure. I might have a couple of stabs at it, if the odds are in my favor." He replied, eyes a bit questioning as he looked at his daughter. Why all the questions? But then again, she was nearing her own time to go out into the world, so that could be a reason.

"As you stir in your sleep, I hope you think of me."
Cast nodded but stiffened a bit at the mention of her younger brother. But she let it go quickly, nuzzling him as he asked her about names.
"Well, I'd like to put your name in it, you know, like 'Cavalia's ...' and then whatever we wanted." She said to him, smiling a bit as she let her eyes dart away from Cavalia then back to him.

~xX Dark Light II Xx~
"Feels so good being bad, there's no way I'm turning back."
Dark huffed as she climbed out of a ditch she hadn't seen. The snow had filled up the deep spot in the ground, making it appear that the flat plain she had been walking on just kept going. Too tired to bother to be careful, she'd blundered right into the hole. The pregnant mare had managed to just slide down instead of falling down, but it was still painful and shaming. Her forelegs now gripped the rim of the ditch and her hind legs shoved up. The few spot stumbled out of her trap, basically growling.
She turned back the way she'd come, picking up a trot. As she moved back towards the unofficial 'center' of Utasia the snow thinned until there was basically none. Spring was going to come soon, one would think. And combining that with that little sliding fall of hers, she was now grudgingly heading for what would be the the starting point in her search. As for what she was searching for, it was not what, but rather who. She was looking for Relic. And after a bit of time, she hit upon a stroke of luck. Dark's starting point had come into her line of sight and lo and behold, so had the stallion she was seeking.
She stopped in a bit of hesitation, but the wind kicked up, blowing a few stray flakes of snow and her mane and tail around her. Shivers ran down her spine, even though it wasn't too cold, and she set her eyes on Relic. Seeing as he was gazing at a mare and two yearlings, and seeing as she didn't want to walk up to him, she let out a call. A whinny that could only ever sound the same if it was replicated by her, one that would let the stallion know that she wanted him to come to her.
