Cheeska knew Wind was going to catch up. She decided to go ahead and make her true speed known. She put on another burst of speed, enjoying herself and letting her tail flag out behind her. She couldn't multitask when she was running, everything else seemed to just disappear. The yearling would end up slowing soon, she couldn't in but so long.

Shadow caught wind of her scent and groaned. He then shot into another burst of speed using fifty percent. He passed Shetan easily and was soon close enough to touch CHeeska's tail.

Cheeska continued her pace and saw Shadow by her tail. She didn't think much of it anyway and tried to go faster, though he legs wouldn't move any quicker. She like the feeling of the wind blowing against her and smiled, deciding to tune out everything else.

Inch by inch Shadow started moving up until they were neck and neck. "Watch yourself. If I were you I would not trust your nephew."

Cheeska snapped back to reality. "He's my nephew. That is just..." she trailed off and made a face before continuing to run. Even if he were to try, Ebony had made sure she wasn't helpless and Cheeska knew she could at least take care of herself and not forget what her father had taught her like she promised.

Shadow chuckled softly. "Yes he is and I remember him not so innocent as a colt and I heard it got worse. Dark's twin Nosferatu covered her and Shetan is the result."

Cheeska's look told it all. She tossed her head and snorted. "Well, my brother must not be right in the head." she stated as she kept up with him though she knew he was a lot faster. In maybe a year, she might be able to match his speed.

Shadow chuckled. "His mother fell in love with her half brother before he turned evil. EBony covered her and she had Dark and Nosferatu. She decided to stay with Ebony until she died. I guess I can understand Nosferatu. Like his mother he based his opinion of love by Dark's looks and he wanted a foal by her. Dark agreed to the terms of the fight and lost."

"Yuck." Cheeska said closing her eyes for a moment before opening them again. "Thanks for the family history. This brother of mine doesn't sound to.....brillant" she put it as nicely as she could think, though she knew he could tell what she meant by it.

Shadow sighed. "Then neither was his gramdam who I respect completely. She chose to stay with Ebony when she found out Karma's true nature and stayed for the foals she loved."
