Sky shrugged. "Oh, it's nothing... my father keeps his herd here, stallions are less of a threat because other horses are only down here in the winter. But he's not here. And neither is my mother."

Lightning looked around. He was lonely, and wanted some mares of his own!

Sky looked around, to see if any other horses had come down into the valley. She spotted a black stallion in the distance but ignored him and turned back to Dare.
