Zana blinked as the forest trees receded to reveal a high mountain surrounded by gently sloping meadows. She sighed and stepped out the shadows, glad to leave behind to wolves and their cries. She bent her neck and nibbled at the grass. It was sweet and she savored each mouthful. It was a while before she noticed anything but when she did the sight shocked her. Up on the mountains lower slopes where two horses, stallions by the looks of them. She froze, these were the first horses she had seen since....since...she stopped herself. 'don't think about that' she scolded.
