Goldkit surprised tumbled with Mousekit and slithered from her grip. "I will be leader." he said triumphantly.

"Never!" Mousekit play-hissed. And then attacked Goldkit's tail.

Blossomfur kept purring. However she soon felt tired and curled up close to Pricklestep.

Pricklestep awoke early the next morning and went into the forsest.

I woke up by the stream...... Something was off. I shrugged. I stood up and stretched. I had forgotten to go back to camp last night...... Oh well, not like they noticed. I stick my paws in the water without disrupting the fish. I catch a few and sit. I sit in the water, even if it was pretty cold. I was used to cold water. I sighed, longingly. I was longing for the days when I was noticed and cared about. Yeah, I was a leaders kit. Nothing special. My dad. A prophecy cat. My mom. Leader. My brother, Iciclepaw, the main event. My sister Lightpaw, the gift from above. My other brother, Dashpaw, the special one. Me..... Well I've always been the nobody out of the litter.... Yeah... Cleverpaw. The fastest. The smallest. The smartest.... But not the main event, or the gift from above, or even special. I had been noticed there though. My mentor, Glistentail saw promise in me. I need to show my family that I'm not useless........ I'm the only one who apparently knew to go the the river. I guess I was a coward for that, going to the river instead of helping my siblings....... yeah. I guess I am just a cowardly cat. I've been jealous of just about cat in this clan. They get noticed. I get left alone in the forest. I'm ignored. They're the stars. I'm just glad that Pricklestep notices me....... But I know Blossomfur came to flirt, when I was talking to Pricklestep. I had to get out of that situation. I wonder if he likes her...... Oh well if he does. Not the first time. This has happened in my perspective.... Well. I better go back to camp. Or I could enjoy the peace of the stream. Sitting happily in the freezing water...... Yeah. That'll work just enjoying my day in the forest. Enjoy life as I know it..... All I can remember when I think of that word is what my mother said to me when I became an apprentice. "Live as you would live forever, fear death as you would die tomorrow". I just smiled, I didn't know what she meant. But I do now..... And I'm gonna. I'm gonna some day, become a warrior, get a mate, have kits or maybe become a deputy that makes me leader someday...... Well only time will tell..... I wonder what will happen.....

I watched as my long fur flowed with the water current. "I don't have anything better to do." I say. I point to the pile of fish. "Take it if you want it."
