Mahogany was sitting in a patch of sunlight letting the sun soak his fur. Belle was curled at his paws watching a butterfly as it flew past her nose. The young fox wriggled herself onto her belly and slowly crept forward eyes locked on the butterfly. Determination gleamed in her eyes.
"You won't catch it" Mahogany teased lightly.
"Shhhhh" Belle hissed.
Mahogany laughed and watched curiously. His sister sprang from the grass in a flash and caught the insect in her mouth. She then dropped to the ground where she pinned the insect down with her paw and glanced smugly at her brother.
"Ahaha! I did catch it!" Belle cried out happily.
Mahogany chuckled, "Okay, okay almighty hunter let the poor thing go"
Belle nodded and let the butterfly go. She watched through wide eyes as the insect took off and into the forest.
Hannah crouched low in the grass bracing to attack a small rabbit. She had everything in order she just needed to spring.
"Hannah! Haaaan-naaaaah!" Came a cry. The rabbit took off and Hannah cursed under her breath and spun around as her younger brother came barrelling towards her.
"This better be freaking important!" Hannah snapped as she shook grass from her pelt.
Sniper came to a stop, breathing heavily.
"Foxes. Near. Coming." He managed in between his heavy breathing.
"What did you do this time?" She asked in a tiredly.
"Me!? How come when something happens I get the blame?!" He cried out.
"You want an answer to that?" Hannah asked. She decided to change the topic though before they got into an argument.
"How many are we looking at?" She asked
"Two when I caught their scents. They're not hiding well so it can't be an attack" Sniper replied hurriedly.
"Come on then we better see what they want" Hannah sighed then turned and walked off in the direction her brother had come racing from to find her. Sniper followed, keeping himself a safe distance behind his sister just in case this was his fault.
