You drop your nose to the ground, trying to find any scents. Mixed smells of raccons waft through, and you veer off the sand path. The lead hunter stops, and every dog stops. "Coons." you whisper under your breath.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, you are a hound. Hunting instincts flow through your veins, and you can't help but join your team in the everday-life of getting fox fur in your teeth, or a rabbit foot smacked into your face. This is how you live.

The River
This is the big river. If you are ever hunting, the critters usually dive in here to try and trick the hounds. It is also the ideal place to bathe or drink. Not good in Winter, for if you fall in you can freeze to death or get severe frostbite.

Great Plains
No, the hounds won't hunt here for the little cover and the difficult task to tree an animal. But it is great for walks, although it is a 'tornado central.'

Forest View #1
Forest View #2
Forest View #3
These places are where the hounds hunt. The forests are rich in animals, some good... and some bad.

Milky Way Farm
This is the farm. The hounds eat, sleep, and train here.

The Typical Coonhound

Postby Kat. » Sun Nov 13, 2011 3:57 am

βяɛɛ∂ƨ

Image
Blue Tick Coonhound

The Blue tick Coonhound has a broad head with a domed skull. The muzzle is square in profile, long, broad and deep, with a predominant stop. The round eyes are dark brown, large and wide set. The ears are thin and are set low. The legs are straight from the elbows to the feet. The tail is carried high tapering to a point. The hind legs are long and muscular. Dewclaws are generally removed. The feet are compact with well arched toes. The smooth, glossy coat is short and dense and feels a bit coarse to the touch. The coat color is dark blue, with a thickly mottled body, spotted by various shaped black spots on back, ears and sides, tricolor coat has a uniquely speckled-blue look to it. Its heavy ticking is actually composed of black-colored hairs on a white background, creating a bluing effect. The head and ears are predominantly black. The dog can come with or without tan markings, when they do appear they should be over eyes, on cheeks, chest and below tail, and will have and red ticking on feet and lower legs. AKC standard prefers more blue than black on body. There should be more blue ticking than white.
Height: 20-27 inches (51-69 cm.)
Weight: 45-80 pounds (20-36 kg.)

Redbone Coonhound

The Redbone Coonhound is a handsome, robust and strong coonhound. It has a clean, well-modeled head, with a medium stop between the brow and nose. The long, hanging ears extend to the tip of the nose when the dog is following a scent. The tail is held upright. The paws are compact and cat-like, with thick, strong pads. The skin is a rich red color. The coat is shiny and smooth, lays flat, and is short like that of a Beagle. Coat colors include red, and red with a little white. Although some Redbones might have traces of white on their feet or chest, this friendly, elegant dog is the only solid-colored Coonhound.
Height: 21-27 inches (53-66 cm.)
Weight: 50-70 pounds (23-32 kg.)

Image
Black & Tan Coonhound

Eyes are hazel to brown. Ears are extremely long, wide, and thin, set low and far back on the dog's head, hanging well down the neck. Their black and tan markings are similar to the Doberman and the Rottweiler but have key distinguishing differences from these breeds. The most prominent are the long tails and ears, and their loud, baying bark. Legs are long in proportion to the body length, muscular and finely modelled. The tail is set slightly below the natural line of the back, strongly tapered, and carried at a right angle, when the dog is alert or excited.
Weight: 65–130 pounds (29–59 kg)
Heigh: 23–27 inches (58–69 cm)

Image
American English Coonhound

The head is broad and of moderate length. Expression-Kind, houndy. Eyes-Dark brown pigmentation, wide apart. Fault: Drooping lids. Ears-Hung rather low, reaching nearly at the end of the nose when drawn out. Fine texture, soft to the touch. Faults: Flat, stiff to the touch cocked. Skull-Very slightly domed, broad between the ears. Fault: Narrow skull. Stop-Prominent. Muzzle-Rather square, well proportioned in width with the skull. Flews covering the lower jaw from the side view. Planes-The stop forms a right angle with the upper line of the muzzle. A line from occiput to brow is a little above, and parallel to a line from eye to nose. Nose-Black. Faults: Pink or white pigmentation. Bite-Scissors bite with upper incisors fitting closely over the lower. Disqualifications: Undershot or overshot. Neck-Muscular, moderate length, fits smoothly into the shoulders and rising with a slight taper to the skull. Carriage-Moderate, reaching slightly forward in the trot. Faults: Neck carried overly high or low. Thickness at shoulders. Topline-Slightly higher at withers than at hips. Strong. Chest- Should reach to the elbow. Shows considerable depth rather than excessive width, allowing optimum lung space. Ribs-Well-sprung with good depth, tapering gradually to floating ribs. Underline and Tuck up-Tight and smooth without exaggeration. Fault: Sagging underline. Back-Muscular, blending well with the neck when the head is held alertly. Fault: Roached. Loin-Broad, well muscled. Tail-Set high, carried gaily but not hooked over back. Medium length, slight brush. Faults: Plume or rat tail.
Height: 21-27 inches (53-69 cm.)
Weight: 40--65 pounds (18-30 kg.)

Image
Plott Hound

The Plott Hound is a medium-sized, powerful, muscular dog. The skull is moderately flat with well fitted skin. The muzzle is moderately long with flews that make it look square. The lips and nose are black. The prominent eyes are brown or hazel with black eye rims. The hanging ears are broad-set, and medium in length. The long tail is set below the topline. The strong feet have webbed toes. The coat is short, smooth, fine and glossy. While most Plott coats are single from time to time a double coat can occur. Coat colors include any shade of brindle, solid black, brindle with black saddle, black with brindle trim, and a rare buckskin. There may be some white around the chest and feet.
Height: 20-24 inches (51-61 cm.)
Weight: 45-55 pounds (20-25 kg.)

Image
The Treeing Walker Coonhound has powerful, mobile shoulders. The ears are large compared to the head. The upper lips hang well below the lower jaw. The forelegs are long, straight and lean. The smooth coat is fine and glossy and comes in a tri-color and a bi-color pattern. (Tri-color is preferred by breeders.) Although they come in tan and white, they must never be called "red," to distinguish them from the Redbone Coonhound.
Height: 20-27 inches (51-69 cm.)
Weight: 50-70 pounds (23-32 kg.)

M U S T R E A D ! ! ! ! !

Яʋℓɛƨ

✘ Genders ✘
Keep the genders even! Yes, you can start as a fae only, but ONLY to the exeption as if there is only a few faes, and tons of brutes. If there are more brutes than faes, that is otay. =3

✘ Literate ✘
Literate. Know the meaning? Good. Because that's how you will Role-Play. 'Literate' does not mean three pages worth, it means a good, long, well-spelled and described pieces.

✘ Tess ✘
Tess is smart. So listen to her and her rules.

✘ Reality? ✘
This is a realistic Role-Play, which means no pink fur, or anime, or powers.

✘ Chatspeak ✘
Heh. Heh. Nice try, but no. Any little peice of chatspeak BESIDES gtg, brb, bbs, bbl, ttyl, or little abreviations that are in ways necessary, that are fine.

✘ Codeword ✘
The passcode is Wasabi. Use it, or DIE!

✘ Posts ✘
I won't crap this in your face, but I would like neat, detailed posts. This means adding bits of color, different sizes, and even... a picture! Here is an example:

Maxwell bit the small rabbit, but didn't like the taste. etc etc etc etc...

How about this?

pic here or something.
M A X W E L L . . .
The big dog bit into the small rabbit's leg, but it had a strange distaste to it, so he moved on.

Listening to the Hounds' songs!

Postby Kat. » Sun Nov 13, 2011 6:10 am

Ѳтнɛя Ɩиғσ

Weather- Today is heavily misted. The air is thick and sticky, and hardly any sunlight shows through. Hunting will be difficult.

Season- Late autumn. Winter chills are rolling in.

Time of day- Early dawn.
