A black and white border collie slowly and carefully sniffed through a green garbage can outside a shop, his paws leaning inside the bin as though he was standing on two legs. A loud bark came from the dog as he hit the jackpot. He had found a still healthy piece of steak. The border collie slowly dragged it out, trying to shield it`s scent from the other dogs that roamed the streets. He slowly gulped up the meat, tearing it off in big chunks until it was all gone, his stomach still roaring around for food. The border collie lifted his head, smelling food but it was being held by a human so he wasn`t going to try anything to get it. He gave a slow growl at a dog that passed by. He walked forwards out of the small alley and waited for the human to walk past. The dog then ran off, bounding along the crumbling pathway towards an alleyway. It was near midday, and the sun still shined in the sky like usual, it`s heat making the humans bustle past people to get to their cool homes. The dog, whose name was Raven, felt jealous at the dogs that got to stay in air conditioned homes, lapping up water and eating gourmet dog food, not rotten muck like he ate. Raven slowly came to a stop, his claws making a fairly loud screech as he halted. Raven turned a corner into an alleyway, where he could see many of the baker`s not-perfected bread. The border collie often came here to steal some food that the baker left out, well what the baker threw out because it wasn`t 'perfect'. Raven slowly crept towards the bag laying by the door, his belly almost touching the moldy ground but the baker soon came out, holding a broom. Raven was whacked repeatedly, whimpering loudly. The baker grunted and kicked Raven in the side, gathering up the rotten bread and taking it inside.

Raven slowly backed away from the door, whimpering softly. It wasn`t like him to be caught by the baker, but after scoring a few hits he wasn`t going to try to steal from him again too soon. He slowly wandered along the city paths, wondering where he should go next to find his meal. Raven knew plenty of places to go, but he never wished to, after being hit. He hated to go to places where the shop keepers or humans hit him or kicked him to go away, that probably is confusing. Raven slowly went to the alleyway he usually stayed at, a place in the broken-down part of the city. He turned the corner, looking over his shoulder to make sure no one was following him before bounding into the alley. He could see his torn up old dog bed, the tennis ball he found and that was it. That was all he ever had from his past life. Raven went to his torn up dog bed and sat down, circling it like most dogs would before they slept, but he wasn`t going to sleep, he was going to think. Raven looked up at the sky, wondering whether he was ever going to find a nice owner. Someone who would hug him, take him for walks and give him a new tennis ball atleast if he was good.

Bracken wandered the streets of the city, making sure to keep in the dark alleyways so that no one, both dog and human, could see him. His pale grey pelt made him conspicious to most however hard he tried to hide out in the open so he resorted to hiding in the shadows. I can't let anyone find me, if someone does, I'm doomed! Bracken thought, carefully making his way along the street to the garbage bins where he usually found his meals. I want friends, but humans see me as an animal to be killed for sport or used for work. And other dogs see me as a savage creature, willing to kill my own kind to survive. Bracken narrowly avoided a collision with a human's pram, Why can't I ever find some friends or a place to call home?

Bracken reached the garbage bins, looking around to make sure no one was there, he cautiously ran towards the bins and stood up on his hind paws, his front paws gripping the edge of the bin as well as he could to support himself while he searched the inside of the bin for food. Snap, none here. Looks like I'll have to find somewhere else. Bracken sighed resignedly, letting go oft he bun and dropping to all fours. As he turned to move off, a squirrel ran in front of him, oblivious to the fact that he was there. Or maybe I'll just hunt. Bracken crouched down and moved closer to the squirrel, making sure that each step he took made absolutely no sound at all before he got close enough and leapt, trapping his prey between his forepaws and killing it with one bite to its neck. Settling onto his haunches, Bracken started his feasting on the squirrel, all thw while keeping he ears pricked for any sign of humans or dogs approaching.

.:. Rehou .:.

Rehou sighed as she walked the alleyways. Her matted fur clinging to her but it still wasn't enough. Her bones prominent as she lean down to sniff the ground. She could hear the disgusted sounds of humans about how she looked. Rehou showed her teeth at the dogs with humans. Her ears pinned back as she heard a loud crash and smelt food.

"What the..." murmured the lab. Her eyes wide as she saw a hot dog cart tipped over thanks to some careless human pups. Her eyes landed on the human that ran it. She seemed to be nursing an injured leg. A smirk came to Rehou's lips as she crept forward slowly. The human had yet to notice Rehou, seeing as she was cursing the human pups and yelling at strays to get away. Rehou reached to get a few hot dogs that had fallen out, however, she was spotted. The human glared at her and actually swiped and tore out some of Rehou’s fur off her tail as she turned to run with the dogs in her mouth.
(That sounds messed up x3)She sighed as she raced back to her ‘home’, a shallow hole under a small willow tree within the park of the city. Even though she was a part of the Slynx group. She didn’t see them on a daily basis.

Rehou laid in her hole, licking her poor abused tail. “God, stupid humans..” she murmured with a huff. She glared as she watched her fellow canines chased after flying discs and balls. She, soon, began to bare her teeth thinking that she’ll never get the pleasure and that house dogs are little wimps. Her blue eyes shone with hate and contempt for the other canines that didn’t know the hardships of the abandoned ones.

Bracken licked his lips when he finished his squirrel. "I still need food. That squirrel wasn't enough." Bracken muttered to himself, wondering if the other members of the Slynx group had better luck than him. I'd better go find some more food and keep an eye out for them." Bracken said to himself, walking off back where he came from, "Not that I know who most of them are anyway." he added when he reached the busy streets of the city. Here we go again. Bracken heaved a heavy sigh and slunk back into the shadows. Unfortunately, he had not been quick enough and a human had already seen him. Bracken started as a human screamed in fear and started running away from him. No! How did they see me? Bracken stood in wide-eyed shock as several humans ran in his direction, yelling fierce threats, throwing stones and brandishing all sorts of objects at him.

Frozen to the spot, several stones hit Bracken, some larger ones even tearing away part of his fur and flesh when they struck him. After a particularly large stone and hit his left ear and torn away the tip of it, Bracken came to his senses and ran full out, trying to find a safe place to hide but not knowing where he was going. "Help me! Someone!" he howled desperately, a hail of stones continually battering his already bruised and wounded body. "Help!" Bracken cried out in fear, he had not known fear like this except for te time when he was thrown out of his home for accidentally breaking a vase. Was the vase really worth throwing me out to die? he had wondered for hours after being kicked out, but no matter how much he tried to get an answer, all he could think of was that a life was worth more and therefore he was worth more than the vase. I hate humans! I hate humans!! he cried mentally, still trying to escape from the humans chasing him.

Username - [Your username, duh.] Painted Turtle
Character`s Name - [First and last, please.] "Just call me Feather, period."
Character`s Gender - [Male or Female, no shims.] F
Character`s Age - [Any age ranging from one week to fourteen years] 2 years
Character`s Crush - [Not needed much, cannot have a crush with your own characters.] "I don't really have another dog I like, yet."
Character`s Mate - [Not needed much, cannot have a mate with your own characters.] "I said, no crush, so I won't have a mate."
Character`s Pups - [Not needed much, but put their pup names here or if they are pregnant, "Pregnant."] "What don't you get about no mate?"
Character`s Breed - [The breed of the dog.] King Charles Spaniel (but has an unusually longer muzzle, as KC Spaniels usually have short muzzles)
Character`s Group - [Their group, good dogs, bad dogs or Slynx?] Slynx
Character`s Group Rank - [Their rank in the group they are in.] Subordinate
Character`s Appearance - [Their appearance. Put in any vital information like scars, blind, realistic markings, height weight etc.] "Well, I'm white with caramel colored patches on me, as is common in my breed. My fur is a little shorter than most spaniel fur is, but it's feathery and soft, and silky. I have eyes that change from sky-blue to amber. As for my height, I'm medium-sized. Maybe just a tiny bit smaller than a Border Collie. But definitely NOT one of those prissy pocket dogs either..." (shudder) "As for weight, being a stray, I'm not overfed, but I'm not starving either. I'm pretty muscular, agile, and speedy too. I just hope that I can stay like this, because you never know what could happen when you're a stray.
Character`s Personality - [Needed. At least one small paragraph.] "Well, I know I'm intelligent. When fighting against other dogs, I always have a strategy. To most other
dos, I'm pretty reserved, and serious. You know, you have to be formal. But to my closest friends, I'm pretty laid-back and I always have a great time with them. And then, of course, I really want to be Second-in-command. It's a prestigious position, and I really would like to have it. But don't think I'll kill other dogs to get there; I'm not that type of dog."Character`s Optional History - [This is optional. But if typed, at least one small paragraph.] "I used to be a prized agility dog. Yes, me, a stray, once a champion. But, I hated the life of fame. How would you feel if you were forced to pose for hours on end,
just for some stupid cameras? I didn't want any more of it. When we got home from winning the trophy at some Dog Show or other, I ran away and got lost. I am grateful that I am now a member of Slynx. Other? - [Anything else you need or want to add?][/center] "I still have some old habits. I like to stay well-groomed, and sometimes I go into water, even when it's freezing out. Just a bad habit."

{ Sorry Painted Turtle, but your character isn`t accepted. I don`t believe you are literate enough. And also, no more Slynx dogs until we get two bad dogs and two good dogs. }

Character`s Name -
Larka. Just Larka, as she was never given a last name.
Character`s Gender -
Female
Character`s Age -
Three Years
Character`s Crush -
"Who has time for a crush?"
Character`s Mate -
None
Character`s Pups -
Hasn't mothered any.
Character`s Breed -
Tamaskan
Character`s Group -
Bad
Character`s Group Rank -
She fancies herself as the leader of the bad dogs.
Character`s Appearance -
Like others of her breed, Larka shows many characteristics of a wolf. However, she has no wolven blood in her. She has thick, short fur that is a dusty tan in color. Her deep gray saddle markings add to the wolf-like appearance of her fur, even though they fade into her base color. Her large paws make it easy for her to run across the snow, but she is self conscious about them and does everything in her power to avoid drawing attention to them. She has deep amber eyes that seem emotionless unless she wants to show how she's feeling.
Character`s Personality -
Quiet and aloof, Larka often appears to be shy, however that is not the truth. In reality, this female does not like the company of other canines, often finding them to be petty and annoying. She has a deeply rooted love for violence and fights, and she will attack with the slightest provacation. Sneaky and manipulative, Larka is extremely adept at making other canines trust her, only to use them to sate her lust for violence and bloodshed, a quality she does not bother to hide. She does not feel that being prone to such violence is a bad thing.

Despite this love of fighting and death, Larka is incredibly loyal. She is much more patient with canines who are friends to her, often being pushed to great lengths before snapping at one. However, when she is pushed past her breaking point, Larka will attempt to kill the canine who caused it, simply for the reason that they annoyed her far too much. Despite her loyalty, Larka is not a team player. She hates to share her kills, and will oftentimes bite and tear into other dogs before giving up the tiniest portion of a meal. She cannot tolerate pups at all, and does her best to avoid them, no matter the situation.

Character`s Optional History -
Lyra was at one time as open and friendly as any other dog. At this time, she was a well-loved member of a small pack, made up of her parents, herself and her two siblings. They called the streets home, however their life was never all that hard.

Then things began to change. New dogs began to move into the land, strange dogs brought in by humans. These dogs were not friendly, and tended to attack whenever they saw the small family. Being the good dog she was, Larka obeyed her mother and father, hiding whenever one of the strangers were near, and abandoning her food for them. However, darkness was beginning to rise in the young dog. Every time she saw one of these strange dogs tearing into something she'd killed, she'd wonder what it would be like to tear into them. She started taking longer to run whenever she saw them, choosing instead to stand her ground, resulting in scars from being bitten. Years of this slowly began to change the female even more, and she started spending less and less time around the family and their little home. She began sleeping outside of the den and became more and more snappy as time passed. The strangers appearances and attacks became more frequent, and more violent, steadily pushing the female to her breaking point. She lived like this for a few more years, taking it in silence.

Then one day, things changed. Something inside the female snapped. This time when a Stranger attempted to chase her away, she waited, every muscle in her body ready. This time when they came, instead of rolling over and allowing their fangs to tear into her, Larka fought back. The dogs met in a fury of teeth and claws, ending when the female was able to clamp her jaws around the leader's neck and end his life. Once the blood haze cleared, Larka saw that her family had joined the fight, resulting in tragedy. Her younger sister lay dead, a few feet from the unmoving form of her mother. Her father was nowhere to be seen, and her brother no longer wanted anything to do with the violent young female.

To this day, Larka loves the thrill of a fight. Unlike some dogs, she does not fear death. Instead she holds a respect for the dog who will end her life, for surely she will die in battle.

Other? -
This roleplay looks rather interesting.
