The black brute watched as emotion after emotion flitted across the she-wolf's face. He watched her closely, noting her posture and her expression. She seemed tense, as if she were waiting for him to attack, though he knew he never would. He didn't provoke a fight without reason, and seeing as though the fae had made no move to instigate a fight, he had no reason to pounce on her.
He watched silently, calmly, as her gaze analyzed him, as his had her. Though he appeared calm on the outside, the muscles under his black pelt were tense, coiled to spring. He didn't believe that she would attack him, for she didn't seem to be the type, but he was prepared nonetheless. He was always overly cautious when approaching new wolves, and until they accepted him, he refused to completely relax. Knowing that about himself, he also knew that he couldn't blame others for being wary of him, especially if he was trespassing on their territory, as he was to this she wolf.
Watching her reaction to him, he slowly came to the realization that she was more than likely the Alpha Female of this pack and its territory. He could tell by the way she held herself and by the way she spoke to him, little things that made him aware of her position in the pack. She had an air to her that most Alphas that he had known carried with them, something that set them apart from their pack. He immediately became more wary. If she decided to attack him, he didn't know how long he would be able to hold her off. She had just hunted, while he had been deprived for days on end, making him weak. He could fight, but he wouldn't have the stamina to hold off a prolonged attack.
Kapu was brought back to the present when her voice filled in the air, reaching his sensitive ears. He huffed softly at her question, his amber eyes moving over the territory around him. His gaze then returned to her after having analyzed the territory that surrounded the area. "I am aware that I have ventured onto, what seems to be, your pack's territory," he answered, his voice low and deep. He knew that it was probably a rhetorical question, but he answered anyways. He had knowingly crossed over into the pack's territory, if only to investigate the area as well as the pack that occupied it.
Kapu's eyebrows raised at her next question, which he sensed was not asked in complete confidence. He had yet to see any other pack member, though he knew most wolves wouldn't venture out far in the cold unless they had a specific reason to. However, he didn't want to antagonize the fae, so he said nothing, allowing his expression to remain calm.
