K I K K I ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Kikki wolfed down her links, then rolled on to her back, licking her lips. She instantly drew a map of Travers, picturing beyond Quaverly Avenue, where the Cheyenne River started. The CR was very short, and jutted out into the ocean. But Quaverly was a little ways away, so she tried to figure out a different water source.
The white shepherd nudged some sausage from her teeth, then thought of Dickens Road. There was a small fountain in Mr. Kicker's yard, but he didn't even like the birds washing their feathers in that! Then she thought of the old marsh, but that was about a mile out of town. And lastly, Kikki thought of Sedivec Road, just before 7th Avenue. That was just before the tall Faver Tower, which was right here in Times Square! Yes, that was where Kuma could go!
"Kuma, beside the FT, there is a sign with the letter 7 on it--in case you don't know what that is, it is one line connected to the top of another line--then just beside that there is another tall, green sign on a pole, and there is a good-sized pond there that gets cleaned once a week. It's really good for baths, too." she murmured, going over every place she knew in Travers, which was basically everywhere.

Kuma puzzled over Kikki's directions for a few seconds, before finally making a mental picture of what he thought it might be. He felt the hairs on his pelt began to rise at the thought of going through the Upwalker den's alone without some type of guide, but wouldn't let his discomfort show. "Right. Should we meet anywhere?" he asked. His voice hasn't said anything for a good while, which was good for now, but once he left those dogs in search of water he was sure it would start yelling at him again. 'I'll just have to put up with it.' he thought waiting for Kikki's answer.
(Sorry for such a short post T^T)

An afternoon span of sky burned scarlet and cast a gentle sanguine glow on the two-toned pelt of a darkly lit creature, stalking unseen amidst the shadows that the city buildings offered for him. The animal was decidedly canine, and intent glittered in the male's searching, probing gaze. One could tell the dog was not familiar with the territory he roamed just by his cautious manner, and it was clear he was more suited for natural surroundings by the feral way in which he carried himself. The patch of greenery that lined the city was for the most part, barren, and Nexxus was forced to seek elsewhere for quarry. In doing so, it meant he was put at risk for being spotted by humans. Nexxus had always lived a solitary life, and had planned to continue ever since he found his way onto the streets. Having been a sled dog before he injured his back leg, he knew from experience how to survive in harsh conditions, and compared to Alaska, the streets of Travers were easy to contend with. Nex was still able to run nearly as well as the time before his injury, and the hitch in his gait made his strut look more confident than it had before. His owner was forced to sell him, since he was of no use to the team with his injury healing so slowly, and he was shipped off to a town fairly close to Travers, where a couple was looking to adopt him. Nex wasn't used to such an enclosed area and quiet routine; with his owners off to work much of the time, he was left to his own devices. Out of boredom he became very destructive around the household, and without any luck for training him, they eventually discussed taking him to a shelter. They didn't have a chance to, however, because he got out of a small hole through the fence, and couldn't find his way back. The owners put up signs in search of him, but Nexxus soon realized he didn't want to be found, nor did he want to find his way back. Ever since then, he'd been living on his own. Snapping out of his reveries, he continued down the side of the road and veered into a vast park, hoping squirrels or birds could be found there. Just as he sidled towards his potential meal, a squirrel, and began stalking it. Two more pawsteps and he would strike. He didn't have time to take those two pawsteps. A sudden, piercing pain started at his forehead and fanned throughout his body, spreading through his nerves like wildfire. A howl sounded in the air, and as his hearing ebbed, he wasn't sure if it was he who was howling or not. Black cavorted at the edges of his vision, and eventually overwhelmed him as he slipped into darkness and slumped to the ground in a heap of black and white. From the blackness exploded a rich spectrum of color, so saturated that it hurt his head. Nexxus saw himself, though hazy, padding proudly towards some sort of structure. The view of himself waned and sharpened, and everthing in that world seemed to spin in a dizzy way. Before him were four silhouettes that were dilineated against the silver structure, and thunder cracked in the air. Gales of wind buffeted his fur and stung his eyes, the zephyrs causing chaos amongst the stormy night. Howls drowned out the whistling of the wind, and through his mind's eye, he found that he too was howling. Names flashed in his thoughts that were too quick to process, and the blurry figures of the canines became slightly clearer, so he could make out their basic coloring and features. A flash of lightning struck the ground in a bolt of white just as a voice growled find them! in his head. Once more lightning littered the earth, and the white hue exploded into his vision, everything going white before it slowly returned to the scenery of the park. A terrified howl tore through his throat and left his parted jaws in an eerie bay, only to give way to deep panting and the shivering of his body. Nexxus' body ached terribly, his throat strained, and he found it hard to breathe. Taking shallow breaths, he tried in vain to calm himself, and he couldn't manage to get up from the ground. Groaning as he glanced over, he saw that his prey had long since fled, he let his head loll back to the grass, and the sound of find them... echoed in his head and roared in his ears. Who was he supposed to find? And why? Why should he even believe what he heard? Maybe his slow start to starvation caused some sort of unbalance in his mind; was he going insane? Or did what he saw really matter?

Kuma shook his head and turned away. "I'll come back here and if you leave I'll find you." he called over his shoulder. He was happy to let his muscles stretch as he strolled along the strange ground of the Upwalkers. There were a lot more at the time all moving at different paces making weird loud sounds that only Upwalkers could make. Kuma easily avoided being seen by going behind bushes that grew in large, straight clumps. Sniffing the air he tried to scent for water that would make it easier to find the clean pond was. The wind however, was blowing in the opposite direction he was, bring no scents that he wanted. Kuma growled irritably peeking through some bushes for the weird letter 7. He had no idea how it was suppose to look, for so many signs, as the other dogs called it, that had a bunch of lines connected together. He saw a couple of lines together on one sign, but apparently 7 had only two. Letting out a frustrated sigh Kuma backed out of the bush, which ripped some of his fur off. He began walking again twitching his ears for any dogs which his voice would want to find. Several went along nearby him all whom gave him glaring stares and none who looked anything like the other two dogs he and the others were suppose to find. He continued staring around losing his focus and going off track. There were more trees in this area and soft, bouncy grass that brought no pain to his paws like the Upwalker grounds. A smile had finally broke onto his face which came from the peacefulness and warm sun on his back. Kuma closed his eyes just trusting his paws to know where to go when he tripped over something large. His eyes flew upon followed by a snarl as he stupidly laid flat on the ground. Shaking his coat he turned around and saw a husky of some type laying on the ground with a crazed look. "Watch where you lay." Kuma growled fur bristling in anger. 'Shut Up!' shouted his voice filling his head with it's anger. He flinched a little, but not enough for the laying dog to see. 'Look.' roared the voice, flashing some more images in his head. All which looked exactly like the male in front of him. 'That still doesn't make up for the fact that he tripped me.' thought Kuma staring angrily at the dog. He calmed himself down a little, but not enough to be entirly friendly with the husky.
