"Yes," Mara replied, nodding. "Though there are some who I'd rather not have go out, I believe that everyone is fit enough." She looked around. "Everyone in here." She mumbled. Fallen... He was still in the other cave. That was fine by her.
Ross stood up immediately. He glanced around at the pack, then turned towards the entrance, and trotted outside without a word. Everyone was tired, but they could hunt now. He flicked his tail as he reached the dense part of the forest, his dark pelt sticking out against the snow. Speed was his friend, stealth, at least at the moment, was not. Though his paws burned at the snow's coldness, he made no noise and sniffed. The scents of the forest drifted into his nose. Trees... fresh snow... blood from the fight... there. Deer. His brown eyes darted around, and he crouched, creeping with infinitesimal steps across the snow, silent. His eyes locked onto his prey, a scrawny deer, skinny. But scrawny meat was better than no meat, so he went for it. Over a bush, and straight into the deer's side, he yanked his teeth across it's neck. That was when he heard the cry. A smaller deer was trapped now, half under the one he had just killed. Rather than leave it to suffer, Ross put the doe out of her misery. Deciding that he better take this back before the others got too impatient, he could go out again later, he stacked the two deer, and began to drag. There was a thin line of blood following him, as the deer's life force dripped out and stained the white snow.
(Gotta go. Catch ya later)
