Without notice, I let a low growl slip through my teeth when the two dogs approached us. Shear and I were both laying limply on the ground, both with broken legs, but when I tried to stand, I yelped, and sank back into the snow [let's have it be winter?], whimpering softly.

He took another step towards Shear, crouching low. To any human, it would have looked like he was hunting prey. But the way he exposed his throat to the two dogs before him and his slow movements indicated that he meant no harm. He hoped they'd get the message. He only wanted to help them...
Tala flopped to the ground. The most she could do was follow suit and expose her throat, but she was now too weak to move at all...

Dex
Dex woke up from his nap, yawning. He got up before realizing all the other dogs were gone. His eyes widened, trying to find where they had gone. After a second, he located the hole in the fence and bolted, faster than he had ever run in his life. He ran straight for the forest, a bit of wind whistling through his fur. The snow was cold as ever, making his pads cold. He headed straight along the tracks that were set by the other dogs, straight to the forest. He didn't stop, he ran for a few minutes until he reached the other dogs. He panted, sitting down.

Terry watched the dogs disappear, than Anna. She didn't budge, thinking she'd wait. She didn't like Anna's treatment of dogs, but she didn't feel like going just yet. She could wait until the morning or something. But for now she just watched the hole in the fence, waiting for something to make her go.

He whimpered slightly, wondering if he could help these strangers. They looked very weak, but capable of looking after themselves at the same time... What could he possibly offer the dogs?
~ Tala
Her head whipped around as she heard pawsteps approaching. Her eyes fell onto another male. Was he a reinforcement? Were she and Joey intruding on these creatures? She barked a greeting, hoping he wasn't an Alpha or something. Maybe he could help her and her brother, instead of judging them like previous groups of animals had?

Ace growled, as he saw two new dogs. He padded over, his head and tail held high. Ace was quite large. He looked pretty much exactly like a wolf, but you could tell he had a bit of Husky in him. He was large, very muscular, and in good health, despite the deep gash on his shoulder. He gazed down at the two, sniffing at the slightly. He could scent the puppy mill on them, so he eased up a bit. He kept his yellowish orange eyes on them, staying alert.

Ryder had watched the other dogs, at first not being able to see what they were doing but quickly realized there was a hole in the cage and that they were escaping. Ears pricked, he shoved his way through the other dogs, but first looked around for Shear. He didn't see her, and figuring she had already made it outside, he shrugged and continued on. The large wolf/german shephard hybrid finally squeezed through and bolted into the woods, howling happily for his freedom.

Joey, noticing a male approach that appeared to be the leader, shuffled backwards in front of Tally. He took a sort of demunted stance that said both 'NO ONE will touch her while I'm still breating!' and 'We are not a threat to you, we're just passing through'. But were they just passing through? This was the first contact with life that wasn't his sister that he'd been with in two weeks!
Tally was extremely relieved that not a single creature had attacked her and Joey yet. Was this a sign? Would these animals help them? Her tongue hung limply from her mouth, showing that she'd had no water for a long time. Her coat had once been thick, fluffy, and pure white... It had thinned out considerably since she'd last eaten with Joey, and their fur was matted with dirt.

Ace growled and bared his teeth at Joey. He was a fool if he thought Ace would attack a female. Ace could tell they would probably end up staying. He stopped growling and baring his teeth, and flicked his tail in the direction of a freshly killed elk. He could tell they where hungry, and needed food. He stood, waiting.

He straightened out of his position and his tensed muscles relaxed. His gaze flickered to the elk, then to Tally, then to Ace. He barked a quick but polite 'thank you' before limping slowly over to the carcass, giving Ace time to stop him if he wanted. He tore a strip of meat from the body and pawed it over to his sister, who gobbled it up greedily, listening in satisfaction as the food hit the bottom of her now less empty stomach. She struggled weakly to her feet, managing not to fall over, and dragged herself to the elk, too.
