Snowheart said quietly, "I-I don't know...." She said it much more to herself than anyone else.

Blizzard said, "Well, it was nice meeting you!" He waved good-bye to the wolf and set off to investagate more.

Winter fell on the snow, exhausted. That Farkas had saved her life, and she would repay him whatever the cost. She trotted back to the Sleet's territory unaware of what was happening...

Sea smiled faintly as she shook. "I just feel so welcomed here." She said, her voice shaking as her body did. She looked towards Faolan. "How long have you been alpha?" She asked softly, curious and wanting to end the short silence.

((Recap: Nothing major, the Sleet Pack has a run in with mountain lions (Winter and Farkas), tensions are rising between alpha Shumani and Ookami.))

Never, "Well, if you can't think of a bad reason for you to join, I can think of a good one. Most wolves die out on their own out here."

Faolan thought. "For a long time," he said, "longer than Sleet Pack's leader. I have been around for most of the important pack history. The previous leader, named Amoux, can also be credited as the creator. When the pack split, he took charge over the half that became this pack, and when he died I took over. I was also leader when Sleet Pack invaded us and lost." Faolan shook himself. "You'd best stop me before I go on and on about pack history."

Tala and Skoll hurried across Snow Pack territory, Tala in the lead. She lead him to the clearing and down the slope into the camp. "Faolan!" She called.

Farkas looked at Winter going. She wasn't going to help!? He whined and growled as he tried to wrench his leg out of the mountain lion's leg.

Ookami had a few choice words she would like to say, but she held her tongue and instead stalked out of the pack. Her eyes narrowed with contempt, she stamped along until she smelled fear scent. She looked in that direction. There! In the distance. There was Farkas and mountain lions. Without a second thought she rushed in that direction snarling fiercely.

Winter stopped thinking for a minute, as she bit herself. What was she doing? She had to prove herself and she was laying down here and watching Farkas struggle with that mountain lion? She struggled to her feet, when she fell down. She knew, that she wasn't a normal wolf no more, but an injured one. Her paw was twisted, almost ripped off. She cried, but knew better of herself as she trotted down to help. She body slammed an mountain lion and bit at his neck, clamping her jaw down, she saw light fade from his eyes. She had killed one mountain lion, yet there was two more. Winter limped as she leaped with her hindlegs. Her eyes filled with light, when she tripped. The mountain lion had an advantage, he snarled as he bit her. No, I can live! She thought positively as she clawed the mountain lion to it's death. Winter would leave one mountain lion for Farkas. For his honor.

((Hmm, I think it would be extremely difficult for one wolf to kill a mountain lion by itsself...Especially an injured one...))


Ookami also had a problem with Farkas. In her mind, he was a waste of space and food. Ookami lunged at the mountain lion which was holding Farkas's leg. Farkas's face was full of pain. He feebly swiped at the big cat's face, but its teeth were stronger than his claws. To Farkas's credit, he kept slashing at its face, blood spattering the ground. Finally it released, this was too much work for this prey. It turned around, stepping on Ookami's foot.

Ookami shrieked in pain and snatched her foot back. She jumped on its back, biting at the neck. The mountain lion gave a ferocious shake, throwing her off. Winded, Ookami lay there. Farkas saw an oppurtunity and clamped his jaws on its hind leg, doing the same thing it did to him. Farkas pulled and tugged, the pain giving him strength. Ookami stood up and lunged for the neck.

The mountain lion struggled. Farkas's grip was making it hard for it to move. Seeing no way out, it suddenly stopped fighting and became preoccupied with escaping. Using its front paws, it tried to detach Ookami, but she had a death grip.

(Sorry, I didn't know any other characters, so...)
Winter noticed something. She didn't take down that Mountain lion herself... That Ookami had done so... While she was busy biting, Ookami had clawed and bit the lion as well... And the other Mountain lion already had an crack in his skull... She would remember this battle as her first step onto the Sleet clan...
