Adare had wandered off into the bush, just patrolling a bit more. He had begun to walk back when he overheard Assan and Brazil talking. Curiosity got the better of him, and he leaned closer, out of sight but still within hearing range. A pang of jealously struck his heart when he heard what the lioness said, and his ears pinned back. Not wanting to ruin the moment for his brother (no matter how upset he was) he turned and walked noiselessly away. He strutted across the border and let out a prolonged roar, beckoning any lone females closer.
Fina shrugged and rolled over, using her legs to hoist her back up into a sitting position. "Maybe we should go looking?" She suggested, without enthusiasm. She stood up and began walking out from underneath the shade, letting little chirps go every now and then. "Surely two lone lionesses would be a blessing to any pride lord, right?"
Quill nodded and rubbed against him. "Are you hungry?" Her appetite seemed to have come back now, and the half eaten zebra was still there. Without waiting for a reply she sprang over to it and began chewing on it's hide, her sharp canines cutting through the striped pelt.
Those who kill sheep should mind where they sleep,
When there's nothing to hear the shotgun is near,
The curse of the farmer is likely to harm yer,
A scent in the morning is sent for a warning,
At a cloud on the sun a wise dog will run,
It's the sharp and alert who avoid being hurt and a dog that's gone feral is living in peral.
Those with blood on their paws and wool in their jaws should heed these old saws.
