Artemis lurked around the edge of the meadow, sniffing for daffodils and dandelions. She kept a close eye on the white and black wolves that were talking amongst themselves. Artemis had seen the white wolf around before, but never the black one.
Apollo stalked a squirrel, who had his back turned to him. You could see the determination in Apollo's eyes as he crept closer. He paused, just a few inches from his dinner, reading to pounce. But, by some twist of luck, the squirrel turned and spotted the large gray wolf. Without another thought, it darted up a nearby tree, not even giving Apollo a decent chase. He growled deeply, glaring at the squirrel in the tree, who he was sure was laughing at him.
"Whatever, I don't need some scrawny squirrel." He huffed, scanning the meadow for his sister. He then noticed the other wolves, which lightened his mood. He was looking for new company, since Artemis never wanted to hunt anything. He trotted towards the wolves, tail and head held high.
Artemis was still sniffing around, sure she had caught a whiff of daffodils, when she caught sight of Apollo walking towards the others. She let out a surprised yip and bolted towards her overly confident brother.
"What are you doing?" She said, trying to catch her breath. Apollo glared at her and continued trotting towards the two. "Apollo, stop! You should know by now not to approach unfamiliar wolves." Artemis's voice lowered as she spoke, remembering what happened last time her brother had simply walked up to a total stranger. She still had the scars to remind her. Apollo didn't seem to care, he walked right up to the other wolves. Artemis tensed as she got ready to defend her brother, again.
"Hey," Apollo said casually, not caring that the white wolf was flirting with the black one.
(I feel so odd with such a big post while all the other ones are so short and simple.)
