KJ sat in the bright, artificial green grass. His brown and blue eyes sparked with interest when a lean, yet muscular female came sprinting into his park. Tilting his head, he approached her silently. He tensed his muscles lightly, preparing to spring if she became aggressive. “Who’re you?”

Cricket’s head whipped around and she snarled at the spotted brute. She glared into his odd two-toned eyes, taking a step back. She peeled back her black lips and snapped at the other dog. “What does it matter to you?”

KJ looked at her casually, not affected by her question. "I'm KJ, ma'am." He said gently, not taking any steps forwards or backwards. His blue, black, brown, and white speckled coat was coarse and slightly dirty from sleeping in the dirt pile from construction in the center of the park.

Cricket heard his slight accent, not really knowing anyone of that accent. She looked at him cautiously, then glanced over her shoulder. "Well, I'm Cricket. And right now, I'm trying to hide from th dog-catcher." She looked back at him with an inquisitive gaze.
