Jay smiled a bit, then walked down the barn aisle and outside, toward the outside barn hose.

She followed him out and saw that the mare was still in the pasture. Feather pinned her ears and snorted before letting her ears perk up and watched Jay with interest.

Jay unwound the hose and turned it on, going near the mare with it. He then held it up to show her what it was.

Feather sniffed it curiously and watched, trying to fit together in her mind what it was.

Jay put his hand under the water to sort of showed her how it worked, then lifted it up and let some of the water run over her neck briefly. "See?" He murmured.

Feather nickered softly and watched, flicking her tail as the water ran down her neck.

Jay smiled a bit, then moved over to her shoulder, positioning the hose so the cool water ran over her shoulder.

At first the paint mare shyd away but then she enjoyed the water and let it run on her shoulder, cooling it slightly.

Jay smiled. "Atta girl..." He murmured in praise to Feather.

Feather nickered softly and continued watching, her expression curious.
