Fay let the wind comb through her ragged coat, feeling like it had been so long wince she stood or ran or slept. She rose to her hooves, legs wobbling unsteadily for a moment, before she was fine again. Looking to the side she could see the silhouette of Judas against the vivid colours of the horizon at sunset, his proud features pure black against the canvas of reds, oranges and pinks.
She started over to him at an easy lope, slowing to a trot as she made her way up the gentle incline. The wind carressed her mane and forelock wildly, a sensation that she had loved even as a foal.
