indentation Jaw clenched as they made their way forward, and the lupine grimaced as the scent fully came at them. Lips curling back into a silent snarl of distaste, Bian snorted and paused to scratch at her nose for a moment, hoping to dislodge the scent from her nose. "Maybe, it would at least get the stink out of my nose."Glancing at the huntress beside her, she silently decided to keep the conversation going. In hope of getting to know the huntress, who knows maybe they could be friends. "So, any long-term plans for the future? Maybe something fun like leading a hunt for some big game, or becoming a mentor?" She whispered softly as they padded along.

indentationHumming softly, as Arian and Erle passed him on the way to the entrance, the brute hurried to follow, quickly catching up to the duo. Silent as he glanced over the river, the lupin grimaced at the sight of the wet ground. While he was a pretty good swimmer - above average but not astonishingly skilled - Kaz hated the water, which was funny considering the rest of his family adored swimming. Turning his gaze from the rushing water, Kazue turned his attention elsewhere, keeping an eye and an ear on his surroundings.

Kieko rested her muzzle on her front paws, her tail curled up around the side of her body. She let out a small sigh and extended her legs, initiating a deep stretch. Her jaw opened into a wide yawn, as she glanced around camp distortedly. She didn't know how she ended up asleep during the day, but it had embarrassingly happened. Most of the wolves were out of the camp, as she stood up, and surveyed her surroundings. She slowly pranced around the area, hoping to find a familiar face.

River turned and bounded back towards Fish and Rain after her interaction with Shadow. River loved Shadow and looked up to her, of course all - most of the wolves did. She was the alpha! But River didn't look up to her for just her Alpha status, she genuinely admired the wolf and what she was able to bring to the pack. River smiled to herself as she approached Fish and Rain . She shook out her fur once she stopped "Alright, we're good to go!" she said cheerfully, part of her was thankful they hadn't left on patrol without her. But she trusted Fish and knew she wouldn't leave her behind.

Risen flicked his tail at Thessa's response. He honestly didn't interact with her much, but he appreciated how she was able to pick up on his unease. " i'm more of a planner when it comes to hunts. I need to be prepared for any scenario" he said in reply. The statement wasn't false, Risen needed in his mind to be prepared for anything. It was the only way he felt he could be of use to his pack , having a plan and a backup plan.

He looked at Nyx for a moment as she trailed off, Risen wasn't sure why. But the wolf had shown him kindness so he offered her a small nudge on the shoulder in encouragement. "I agree with her Smoke. We're happy you're here" he said softly

Blaze dipped his head as Octavia began to leave the meidc den. He knew there wasn't much left for him to say without sounding odd. He turned his attention back to Aleck with a smile. "have you eaten yet today?" he asked with a soft flick of his tail. The dark wolf wouldn't let anyone know - he had a habit of showing Aleck the most affection than the other wolves. Perhaps the most affection he had shown ever. He had a genuine what felt like instinct to take care of the medic.

Destiny wagged her tail softly as Hati had invited her on the hunt. She dipped her head in thanks "yes please, that would be incredible" she said softly. "It's either that or sit around here and wait until someone needs an extra set of paws" she added in a joking tone. Overall, Destiny was thankful for having a reason to leave the camp that afternoon. She also wouldn't mind getting to know Hati a bit more, as they had only spoken in passing. "Perhaps someone would like to join us" she said before shaking her fur and looking around the camp to see if any other hunters or all - arounders were available.

She opened her jaws to answer the other healer trainee but didn't have time to say anything before their mentor showed up. She blinked her eyes not so surprised that the healer was already sorted their herb storage "Good morning Terra, we were already waiting for you..." she said with a flick of her tail. She looked at Kotori as the healer finished talking "are you hungry Kotori wants to share something with me perhaps?" she asked the male trainee.

He narrowed his eyes "I didn't try to order you around, I just told you...you don't want to be around when the others get hungry and angry because of that..." he responded to her with a sight. His eyes looked to his half-sister Nyx there talking with Risen "hmm, well at least someone is being useful to do things without waiting for some orders" he said to her "you know we don't have a lead hunter to order you around..." he said with a smirk.

She looked at Smoke "Yes I've heard that too, my former mentor told me that every wolf has hunting instincts, but training just makes them good at them...so even you could have the basic knowledge about hunting" she said to her. She gave a little confused look to Risen when he gently nudged her shoulder "if you're more like a planner, then could you try to become a lead hunter then? Hm I think that role is like made to you to fill, you're a good hunter and clever..." she said to him.

He took his bites of the doe Risen were brought to camp, when he felt full he sat down to take a look around. His eyes located the young hunter there "Hmm good afternoon Kieko...did you just woke up?" he asked the she-wolf "anyway are you hungry? there is still some doe left...if you want so?" he said to her.

She watched her mentor as they walked further into the woods, she did notice the odd tension her mentor gave from time to time but thought that maybe he was just nervous for some reason. She stopped when the male told them to be at the right place, she lifted her nose up and sniffed, she found it easier to recognize smells when she close her eyes so she did so now too. She kept sniffing "I think I found a squirrel....but it's up to the tree...oh oh...a bird some large bird whose name I can't remember...right?" she asked opening her eyes once again and looking up to him.

He nodded to the alpha "Ah don't worry I think there are not going to be any problems" he said o him. The scout's eyes looked over to the all-around as she walked to them or to the Max mostly. He lightly rolled his eyes at the she-wolf come about his choice of words earlier "Highness is prase or a joke, it's up to the other how they take it" he murmured as he walked past the she-wolf he barely even know much. He didn't leave there to bother them any more than just walking toward the clearing.

He looked after his friend there with a wave of his black tail "yeah see you later...have fun" he said with a smirk before turning to look elsewhere. The black warrior started to think about what he could do now then.

She silently watched after the medic, she could see his nervousness but didn't find anything odd about that. She gave a look to the Blaze as well, as the medic was bringing the remedy for her little problem "oh thank you Aleck" she responded as she took the remedy "yeah I will come to you if I needed to thank you again" she said to him with a soft smile as she started to make her leave.

She stayed there watching in peacefully, as the pack started to rise from their dens. Stretching the black-furred she-wolf stood up and started her walk toward some of the hunters she saw being alone "Good morning Miera" she said with a gentle nod and a smile. She gave a look around before turning to face the other hunter "you ready for a hunt? with me or well we could ask any other with use, more hunters means more prey right" she said.
Her eyes stopped to Destiny and the handsome Hati there "hmm, maybe they could be a good choice" she said mostly to herself as she was not sure if the Miera was listening to her or not. She flicked her tail when the all-around looked around trying to get her attention.

Her eyes narrowed to Kass "what?" she murmured before shaking her head " no way what are talking about?" she said trying not to show her embarrassment "take those bees out of your head Kass....you don't think sensibly" she said with a small smirk. She shook her head more, looking elsewhere "there is no way I could be envious of you...so let's just get this party out and to work...our hungry packmates don't get full by air" she said.

Sandpiper side-eyed Bian, a smile on her face as she watched the Huntress itch at their muzzle. She herself felt uncomfortable at the stench as well, and shook her head from side to side. Raccoons sure were something else.
The she-wolf flicked an ear at her packmate's next query as a sign of acknowledgement. She did not yet speak, as she was unsure of her answer. Sandpiper hadn't really given much thought to her future, seeing as she relished living in the moment. However, Bian's question did provoke some passing thoughts.
"Hmm.. eventually, I would like to take on a Trainee. That would be a while from now, sure, but it's a good thought. Training a younger wolf seems like a lot of planning and work, but the connections and success would make it worthwhile." She mused, absently brushing her tail over a budding bush and leaving gentle marks in the powdery snow with her fur as she passed by.
"Maybe.. maybe take a mate. I don't know for sure, but the thought of having a real family just seems so sweet to me." Sandpiper blushed slightly, her voice light and airy as she replied. She'd never had a great connection with her parents, and had no siblings growing up. The idea of having someone to love past a platonic sense was one that always lingered in the back of Sandpiper's mind.
"I'm also pretty happy with my current rank in the Pack. I don't see myself taking on any higher position." The she-wolf grinned, expressing her solidarity with this statement. She was very perfectly content with what she did now.
"What about you?" Sandpiper asked, curious.


Thessadowes | Lightning Pack | All-Around | Location: Forest | Tagging: Smoke, Risen, Nyx

Thessadowes's soft smile grew ever so slightly larger as Risen spoke. She greatly loved the bond that her packmates shared.
She opened her muzzle to comment, but a strong whiff of- you guessed it- deer hit her senses. The faint breeze that blew around them had carried the smell, but she could tell that they were rather close.The she-wolf looked at her surroundings, and vaguely recognized the area. It took her a bit to pinpoint it, but she did nonetheless.
"I think we are close to the meadow. The forest is thinning out slightly, and the sunlight is a bit more noticeable." She noted, more to herself than her group. The All-Around raised her head and inhaled to catch a better whiff of deer to confirm her suspicions.

Tendril | Fire Pack | Hunter | Location: Camp | Tagging: Kassandra, Serafina

Tendril nodded in understanding. The prey pile sure wasn't up to code today, as she had experienced firsthand. She glanced over her shoulder at it on instinct, and snorted. It looked worse than before.
"Not really, but I do have a suggestion.." She offered, turning her gaze back to the little group.
"What do you think about the lower slopes? The trees there are taller, and the undergrowth is more lush and soft. It's sure to shelter some of the larger prey, like pheasants or hares. Even in the winter, hopefully, since it's kind of shielded by the trees, and the fallen snow doesn't settle quite as thickly down there. It's sure to be cooler because of the shade, but I know that wouldn't be a problem." Tendril thought out loud, tilting her head as she spoke.
"Only a suggestion! I am more than happy to hear if you've got a place in mind." The Huntress added, blinking twice at Kassandra. This was a group effort, after all.
Tendril's ears perked up slightly as Kass addressed Serafina. She felt slightly awkward, having been unaware of the origin of the situation. Unsure of what to say, she gave Serafina a weird smile, something between the emotions of apologetic and nescience.

Blizzard | Warrior | L-Pack | Tagging: Mick, Angel, Waterlilies | Location: Camp


When Blizzard looked at Mick again, the wolf was smiling. Finding that smile again was relieving. Mick was his best friend, and now, his partner. The last thing Blizzard had wanted was to upset the white wolf. He glanced at Waterlilies and Angel. "If you guys want to come with, we're going to head out by the border, do a quick sweep since I don’t think any official patrols have been sent out just yet," he said.

"We're able to attack, of course," Arian agreed. She glanced at Erle, fixing him with a hard stare. Not scolding, but wary nonetheless. He was a good wolf at core, but he was also a Warrior, and an aggressive one at that. "But Alpha hasn’t given an order to launch a full out attack and jumpstart the war just yet. So we only attack for now if we find them on our side of the border," she added. She would reinforce that firmly.

Smoke might’ve been a bit of a troublemaker in general, but even she didn’t want to break rules that could get her in any kind of SERIOUS trouble. Breaking rank had gotten many a wolf in trouble before. The Packs functioned on order. Yes, every wolf had a hunting instinct, but if they wanted to ACT on that instinct, they became a Hunter or an All-Around. Pack law dictated that. Everyone did their own job. "Well yeah, I could, but I saw what happened last time a Warrior tried to do the hunting part. Completely ruined the hunt, and got in big trouble with Shadow."

That threw the Hunter for a loop. Catching himself off guard with it, Toby hadn’t noticed bird, but now that she mentioned it, he could pick up faint traces of it amongst the other forest scents. "Good finding! You picked it out well before I did," he confessed. "I could be wrong, but I think that’s hawk. Never eaten one of those before, but if someone could catch it, I’m sure it’s plenty edible," he noted.

"Oh I never said you were envious of me now, did I?" Kass pointed out. She could brush off the lighthearted insult. She knew what she had seen, but she understood where being called out could be embarrassing. It only made it all the more entertaining, even if it was all in good fun. She glanced at Tendril, nodding. "I think it sounds like a good idea. We didn't really have an exact location in mind, so I don’t personally mind heading that way," she agreed.

Annoyance flickered through Leo. It had been worded as it was okay if Rya decided to come along, but ultimately, the way it had sounded was like she’d just been UNinvited. That was isolating, especially given she didn’t strike Leo as someone who had many friends. She’d seemed a bit…absent. Out of the loop, off on her own in a corner. He hated the idea of leaving anyone out, but what could he do? He didn’t have any more say in things than any of the other patrol members.

Cricket - Female - Fire Pack - Healer Trainee - 6 Months - Tagged;; Red

xxxThe little trainee lingered over the prey pile, mulling over the tough, day-old selection. None of the hunting patrols had even been sent out yet, but her rumbling stomach demanded at least a bite or two of something before seeing if her mentor or some wolf would oversee her as she foraged for whatever herbs she could sniff out. Cricket's gaze rose as she quietly examined her packmates.
xxxIt was then that she noticed another wolf watching the others as well. Red. The seemingly senile wolf was always a bit sharp-tongued, but everyone could use some companionship, yeah? (Cricket's motives also weren't entirely altruistic- her mentor was busy with the wolves at the entrance of the healer's den, and Red didn't look busy.) Cricket padded over with a rabbit in her jaws, head tilted up with a low tail wag of respect. "H-hf." She greeted roughly through a mouthful of fur. The limp body thumped on the cold dirt and she licked the air, getting the loose hairs from her teeth. "Red! Do you want to share something to eat?"

xxxIt was pretty obvious that Mick and Blizzard were pretty paired off, and Waterlilies found himself immediately glad that Angel had decided to invite himself along. Third-wheeling it to two lovers wasn't something he particularly wanted to experience. He didn't know much about his other packmate, but Angel was usually a sweet wolf. Not afraid to speak his mind for sure, but Waterlilies only found respect in that.
xxx"If they do decide to send a patrol out, that's just twice as many eyes over the border. However much we can keep Fire Pack in check." The soft wolf nodded his agreement, glancing over at Angel.

"The tension between you two is palpable." Angel remarked to Blizzard and Mick. "If you'd like to put that aside for the sake of the patrol, I'm sure things would go over more smoothly." He turned to Waterlilies and nodded. "Let's be off then. I might see if I can't wrestle up some prey when we're out, I haven't eaten today and well..." He shrugged. "I doubt anyone will protest my snacking on a squirrel if I find one, right?" He let his eyes roam over his compatriots and then started towards the exit of the camp.

"Well, I don't know about you three," He said, as he crossed into the forest territory and started away from the camp, "But being the only hunter here, I certainly feel a lot better with so many strong all-arounds and a warrior to boot, with me." He said, sending a playful wink in Blizzard's direction.

Lucas didn't take much heed to what Louve had said - he only knew that the she-wolf was being agreeable and friendly. He appreciated the company, though he would certainly like to have some one on one time with his best friend at some point in the day, it didn't have to be now, especially at this early hour.

He did feel a touch out of place among the two white wolves, however. He watched them, his brow furrowed in consideration before he offered a small chuckle and a wide grin.
"You know, you two look so alike you could be siblings. You're both white - you're practically identical. I feel kind of left out with my raggedy yellow fur." He huffed. "Let me in on the white sibling duo, gosh darnit!"

Red had been scanning the campgrounds around her, nose twitching as she identified the goings on around her. Her nose tended to stretch further than her eyes did, after all. However, it didn't take a well-used nose to spot the pup stumbling towards her. Lonnie's pup, to be exact. Red offered the pup a raise of her brows and an inclination of her head.

"Why, yes, I'd be interested in interacting with Lonnie's special pup." She looked around expectantly, waiting for the she-wolf to come bustling around the corner. "I feel like I hardly ever see you on your own. What initiative you show in coming to speak to someone new for a change." She turned her gaze back to the small youngster. "So, to what do I owe the pleasure? I'm sure this can't just be a social call." She leaned forward, placing a paw on the offered morsel of prey. "What can I do for you, Cricket?"
