Lucas | Lightning Warrior | Location: Warriors Den --> Camp | Tagging: Mick, Blizzard --> Leo, Lux
Lucas had been sleeping soundly in the warriors den. He had been so exhausted when he'd gotten back that he'd gone straight to the den, avoiding the healer altogether in favor of sleep. He was happy to curl next to his beloved Leo, but even his giddiness of his new mate couldn't keep the tan wolf from getting his shut-eye.
As the morning washed over the camp, he stirred slightly in his sleep, but it wasn't until Mick's caterwauling that Lucas jolted awake. Pinning his ears, he turned to fix a glare at Mick and Blizzard. What was a hunter even doing sleeping in the warriors den anyway?
"Shouldn't you be crying in your own nest in the hunters den?" He asked. "Or outside, where you aren't disturbing the sleep of others?" He asked, irritation clear in him. He didn't like getting woken up - especially to this sort of thing. Lucas got to his paws. "You're going on and on about the deaths of our pack mates, but how well did you actually know them? How often did you talk to Mayuri, or Rowan? Looks to me like you're always here, with Blizzard. How can you mourn your packmates if you never actually acknowledged them?" He shook his head. "I'm no better. I didn't talk to Mayuri and I only really knew Rowan as Terra's 'other trainee'. And I feel bad about it. But I'm not going to ruin the lives of other wolves by carrying on in your manner."
We're at war - yesterday made that painfully obvious to all of us. If you want to make a difference, do your job as your rank decides it and go talk to someone who's still alive today. Who isn't him." He nodded towards Blizzard's direction. "That goes for both of you. And that's certainly what I aim to do today, myself." He added. Then, before either of them could accuse him of being a hypocrite, he strode out of the warriors den, his gaze searching for Leo.
He was in luck - Leo was standing outside and nearby, and in the company of a wolf that Lucas hardly ever spoke to: Lux.
Coming up alongside Leo's flank, he rubbed his pelt against his mate's and then sat down.
"Morning, Leo. Hey Lux. Goodness, you wouldn't believe what I just had to endure. So much for a restful sleep." He said, rolling his eyes and heaving a sigh. "Hopefully you two slept better than I did?"
