Fish glanced back over her shoulder. "Rain, Elian, Alpha has called!" For all her occasional engaging with Smoke in mocking disrespect for the Alpha— which Fish considered to be in good fun, what with being Shadow's cousin— she understood the full gravity of a situation such as this. "I know we just got here, but we must go now."

Leo glanced towards Rain, who was fighting in a real battle for the first time. "C'mon, Shadow's called us, we have to go home now and get wounds treated, you’re okay, right?" He’d always had a strange soft spot for her. While Rain's being in the Pack had caused some tension between him and Shadow, Leo had never had nothing against Rain herself. He moved along to rejoin Lucas and Shadow. "Oh sky dogs…I’m okay. I think. My cheek's all scratched up, and I dunno how deep it is, but I THINK I should be okay to get home."

Blizzard shot one more glare at the almost…smug Max. They could afford to take the extra time to carry Mayuri. Not when so many wolves were injured and barely able to keep themselves upright. That was what grieved him most. He gently licked Mick's ear. "C'mon, let’s go, before Shadow decides to start barking at us."

Grant's heart pounded as he JUST barely ducked a blow that would’ve taken out his eye. As it was, teeth found his muzzle and sank in deep. He growled and pulled himself away as their Alpha called. "Well fought, both of you. You win this one," he reluctantly conceded, then limped towards the gathering Lightning wolves.

"Now do you see why I was worried? She was a Hunter like you. Max was a Warrior, skilled and strong and bold enough to have become Beta, then Alpha. He had no regrets taking her down, although she’d done nothing to him. He wouldn’t have been bothered taking you down the same way. As a Warrior, every time I go on the field, I’m prepared that it might be the end of me. I might not come back. Hunters don’t expect that with day to day life. It isn’t drilled into you from day one of your training," Blizzard pointed out as they made their way towards the gathering wolves. "I wouldn’t want that limp, still figure on the ground to have been you."

"It’s trained into us. Our trainers fight with us, spars and the like, and they tell us stories of battles they’ve seen. We can create images in our mind of what it must’ve been like. Eventually, see enough battles and it’s doable. I don’t think anyone but a heartless beast could be completely desensitized, but we can function." Blizzard loved a good battle, but something as big as this whole mess? "I know ranks don’t usually trade dens, but why don’t we sleep outside tonight and you can use me as your nest? We can look up at the stars if we can’t sleep or are scared. Mayuri is there now, maybe they’ll make us feel safe."

Blizzard looked down at himself. "I am pure fur. I’m sure I’ll be fine. Besides, I have you cuddling to keep me warm," he pointed out. He didn’t know what he was saying at this point. Mick always made him feel special in a way even praise from an Alpha or Beta didn’t. In a way that made his heart race in his chest and that he couldn’t help but smile like an idiot at. Maybe he’d just taken the bait, and he’d half expected a rejection.

That giggle. That infuriatingly adorable giggle. Flirting as they waited for all their wolves to gather, right after a battle almost to the death! But Blizzard wasn’t about to complain. If he had Mick's attention, that was all he needed in order to start feeling better. "I’m not trying to be smooth, I’m just saying what I think. It's not MY fault it comes out flirty," he teased.

Upon them joining her, Shadow couldn’t help herself, immediately sweeping Leo and Rain close to her. They were hers! She was just glad they had come back safely. She could see blood stains on Leo's muzzle, and did her best to lick his fur back into place until he shook her off. Then her gaze shifted to Rain. "You’re not hurt, are you?"

"Well of course. Haven’t been hiding, I’ve been waiting for the right moment. I mean…you’re always off somewhere, daydreaming about something. I figured I may as well take the opportunity while your attention's on me. Gotta say, I don’t mind that attention," Blizzard admitted, gently nudging Mick.

"About…me?" Somehow, that didn’t quite register properly in the white Warrior's mind for a long moment. For all his strength and smooth-talk, sometimes Blizzard's brain tended to decide to take a vacation. "But…But WHY? I'm a clumsy dork who sleeps in too much and loves finding the nearest fight."
