Smoke | Warrior | L-Pack | Tagging: Basil | Location: Forest
That was true, and it slightly irritated Smoke too, especially because for a brief moment in time, she had been ahead. Now she was being mocked for being behind! "Don’t count your chickens before they’re hatched. Not for long!" Smoke chirped, picking up speed. She panted as she ran, trying to cool, herself down under her bundle of thick fur.
Max | Alpha | F-Pack | Tagging: Enui | Location: Camp
"It makes sense for there to be an announcement. That way there can be no miscommunications." Max narrowed his eyes. "At the very least, it gives wolves something else to do instead of simply lazing around." Sure, time to form bonds was important as a team, but Max didn’t want anyone to be getting lazy and lax in their duties either. "The Hunters have gone out. As soon as they return, I’ll make the announcement and draw everyone's attention to it," he declared. "The sooner we have wolves trained and at the ready to defend themselves and their Pack, then the better off we are."
Arian | Lead Warrior | F-Pack | Tagging: Erle | Location: Camp
"Is that a challenge?" Arian asked, rising to her feet. It was true, of course. She was small, but she was strong, and he was…well…he was ERLE. He was large, broad, and powerful, and intimidating to look at, especially from the eyes of a foe. She’d sparred against him, and in the early days, he’d intimidated her too. And how many Lightning wolves had the two of them defeated in their time? She lifted her chin. "Very well then. You’re right. The two of us." Had anyone else spoken to her that way, they would’ve been on the receiving end of a sharp warning nip and possibly some snark, but this was Erle, her oldest friend. She couldn’t be mad at him if she tried, even if he DID challenge her sometimes. She didn’t mind some playful banter or an occasional challenge.
Toby | Lead Hunter | L-Pack | Tagging: Axis, Hunting Party | Location: Field
"This way." Toby didn’t have the sharpest sniffer in all the forest, but he wasn’t the worst, and he knew how to track. A few minutes wielded faint hoof marks in the dusty ground. "It looks like they branched off in two different directions for some reason. We'll go to the west. Catch whatever you can on the way in, I’m sure we'll know when we're getting close. The scent will be almost overpowering," he remembered. It had been a while since they’d had elk. Stronger than deer or moose, harder to catch, but richer in the fats and proteins the wolves needed.
Leo | Warrior | L-Pack | Tagging: Lucas | Location: Camp
"I would’ve said the same, since it’s so horrible, but…I quite literally just was." Leo smiled sheepishly. Then he laughed in response to Lucas' following comment. "Lead Peacemakers? Given we don’t have any other peacemakers, I don’t think so! And in the middle of some stupid war?" That was always a lingering thought. He didn’t like fighting, but he was trained for it and would not go against the word of his superiors. "What do you think it’ll be like when the war finally ends, assuming we're still in one piece?" He asked, blue eyes fixing on his friend.
Grant | Warrior | L-Pack | Tagging: Saffron | Location: Camp
Grant would’ve gladly stayed there forever, right at his mate's side, but such was not to be, so he brushed his muzzle against Saffron's. "Have a good training session, you two." He licked Saffron’s cheek before stepping back to allow them space. "If I’m back before you, I’ll have some food ready and waiting for when you return," he promised. His gaze flicked towards Lucas, sitting with Leo. Leo was just another random Warrior as far as he was concerned— and as far as Leo was concerned, as far as Grant could tell— but on some level, it was good to see that of all wolves, Lucas had bonded with the son of their leader.
Shadow | Alpha | L-Pack | Tagging: Ambrose | Location: Camp
"You’ve done well," Shadow declared. She gently bumped her muzzle against the Beta's forehead. "And thank you, but no. I do not know what happens in the Fire Pack, nor do I claim to read the minds of any other wolves, but it’s my personal opinion that as Alpha, I should be the one to eat last. First and foremost, my care is for the Pack. The Hunters will be successful though. The season has been good for hunting, after all. They’ll bring back enough prey for us all to eat our fill and then some tonight. If you felt the need to ask if I wanted food in order to get food for yourself as well though, you don’t need my permission to eat. It’s just a matter of preference on my end," she clarified. She didn’t think that was where it stemmed from, but she wanted to be clear on it.
