Having settled on the island only a few nights ago, the retriever hadnโt yet settled in a particular spot. For now, he simply stayed on the beach, but even so he had managed to make himself a makeshift den for the time being. Thankfully, there had been no rain as of late, but the nights had been rather chilly. He was thankful for his fluffy coat, which protected him from the worst of the cold. Still, he longed to be somewhere else, if anywhere back home. Thing was, he didnโt know which way home was exactly. He remembered the little cottage where he used to live with his owners, the hills and meadows he would play among, before he was called away to train with his fellow canines. What had been the entire point of that, he wasnโt exactly sure, but he did know he missed his owners dearly. A multitude of other events happened afterwards, so many he could hardly keep track of them all, they were all a blur for the most part. And then somehow, he had ended up here of all places.
At first, he had enjoyed the area - swimming was a fun thing to do. He enjoyed a nice swim and now, he could do so freely. But then as time went by, he would eventually get bored and find himself longing for company. Tucker knew good and well that he wasnโt alone, he scented dogs that were somewhere nearby, along with other things. Some heโd prefer to simply know by scent and nothing else. Somehow, the scent held a sense of...danger? Was that the right word for it? He didnโt quite know if danger had a scent to it, but some creatures definitely could be, so he guessed in that aspect it made perfect sense. Even so, he wasnโt about to figure it out, at least not right now. He had other things he wanted to do today.
Tucker was a friendly dog and thrived off of companionship. But due to his current situation he was alone. It was something he hated, the empty feeling in his chest was almost unbearable. So, he had taken it upon himself to fix this - heโd go searching for other dogs and hopefully heโd be able to befriend them. Even a single dog would brighten his day, he just was tired of being alone and he was sure another dog out there somewhere must feel the same way? So without debating the idea any longer, he shuffled out of his makeshift den. Shaking out his thick coat, he began to make his way down the beach, his eyes bright and his ears pricked. Finding a dog would be great, but that didnโt mean he needed to throw caution to the wind. As anxious as he was, he knew he still needed to be careful and thus forced himself to be such.
