Really all that was left to the ceremony was for Artemis to accept Toby as her trainer, then it’d be done, and the wolves involved with the burials would get to that, and so, Blizzard retreated just a bit, his gaze shifting to land on Primrose, who appeared deep in thought. He tilted his head to the side curiously and wandered over to the young Trainee.

The white Warrior dipped his head. "Good afternoon," He greeted her. Was there anything GOOD about today? It had more than anything been a reflex icebreaker.

Primrose | Warrior Trainee | Location: Camp | Tagging: Blizzard

Primrose looked up as she heard a voice close to her head and she raised her eyebrows quickly, her surprise apparent as she was shaken from her gloomy thoughts.
"O-oh, Blizzard!" She smiled a little at him. "G-Good afternoon..." Her gaze roamed over to where the burials would be conducted and then back to Blizzard. Was it a good afternoon? Everything seemed so hopeless. "Is there anything I can help you with...?" He had rarely approached her before. Occasionally to inform her that Enna was looking for her or that she was being called to go on a patrol. She supposed a patrol may be in order after all these deaths, to discover what had done it and perhaps to attempt to purge the territory of whatever had, but... She blanched at the thought, the skin under her fur nearly turning as white as the wolf in front of her. What if she went and was killed by whatever it was that was killing all of her pack mates? She began to tremble a bit. "You, um, you don't want me to go on a, um, p-patrol, do you?" She asked softly.

Never in his life had Blizzard heard someone sound so scared of being send on a patrol. He shook his head. "No, it’s okay. I wouldn’t want to take out just a small group with what’s going on." He fixed his ice blue eyes on the Trainee. "I noticed you looked kind of lost in thought and wanted to check in, see how you’re holding up in all this. I can’t imagine this is easy for any wolf." Especially not for the younger ones, who haven’t seen or known of as much death as some of the more experienced, older wolves...

Primrose | Warrior Trainee | Location: Camp | Tagging: Blizzard

Primrose let out a slow sigh of relief when he informed her that he wouldn't take her out on a patrol.
"Thank the sky-dogs." She breathed and then fell silent as he explained his reason for being there. Prim shifted from side to side, trying to debate what would be the best answer. "Would you think less of me if I told you that I'm not okay with this at all...?" She finally asked. "I don't like liars, but I don't want the pack to think I'm weak either." She sighed again, this time the dismay from earlier showing in her eyes, like dark circles under her eyes.

"Everyone seems to... okay with it." She nodded in Coral and Dark's direction. "Some of them are flirting away the stress, maybe... if they even feel bothered by any of this. What I mean to say is, we just buried our pack mates, but no one's acting like there's anything wrong, but..." She looked away from her surroundings and focused on the older warrior in front of her. "But I feel like there's something wrong." She shook her head. "They just died! They left the camp and then they died! Does that mean that anyone else who leaves the camp will also die? And perhaps more than that... no one says anything about the deceased anymore! No one actually has anything to say during the ceremonies, it's just one of two wolves and the Alpha. How disconnected are we from each other as a pack, that we can't come up with one nice thing to say about our packmates?" Her lower lip trembled and she looked down. "I can't help thinking... If whatever has been killing our pack mates suddenly comes for me one day, and I die... No one will care. I don't want to sound selfish - but I want to be cared about. I want people to talk about me if I die... Is that wrong?"

BLIZZARD | Warrior | L-Pack | Tagging: Primrose | Location: Camp

"Not, of course not!" Blizzard exclaimed. He settled down next to the young she-wolf, and couldn’t help but feel a bit bad. He hadn’t known enough about either of the dead wolves to have said anything genuine, but it was true so few spoke at their funerals, and it was like wolves dodged the topics that related to those who had passed whenever they could. Were wolves of their own Pack really so easily forgotten? Fish? Cypress? Leo's sisters? Will they fade away too when nobody talks about or remembers them? He wondered silently.

The white Warrior shook his head. "Fear in this time is a natural reaction, I think. If I’m being honest..." He hesitated briefly, but it was true. Warrior he might be, but it didn’t make him utterly fearless. "I’d be afraid to go out alone too right now. None of this is a good situation, but all we can do for them is remember. It’s not selfish to want to be remembered. I wouldn’t want my Packmates to simply forget about me if and when I die either," Blizzard agreed. "Whatever killed them can’t come here though, and even if it does, we have enough able bodied wolves that we could fight it off. It would never be able to touch camp. You’re safe here. Just don’t go out all alone, stay with a group and I’m sure things will be okay. Whatever this threat is will one day move on to find its prey elsewhere, and we'll live in safety again."

Primrose | Warrior Trainee | Location: Camp | Tagging: Blizzard

Primrose slowly felt herself become more at ease the longer Blizzard spoke to her. Easily influenced by others, especially if they were handsome wolves, she offered him a smile of understanding and sympathy. Of course, her worries weren't all brushed away, but she was grateful for the company. Surely without him to distract her, she would be left to wallow in her fear and discomfort of what lay outside of the pack boundaries.

When he settled down next to her, she lay down and shifted her weight, brushing her fur against his. She felt so small next to him. Was it because he was older? She was shorter than most wolves were, she supposed. She flicked her ears and rested her head on her paws as she listened until he was finished, in which she raised her head.

"You're not as scary as I've heard." She told him. "I won't forget you, if you should die soon. And I'll have plenty of good things to talk about, even if others don't." She was trying to be consoling or helpful, but she flicked her ears and added quickly. "That's not to imply that I think you'll be dying any time soon, but, you know since were were talking about it, well, oh-nevermind." She sighed. "I'm not very good with words. Especially when my mind is off worrying about other things." She sighed and lay her head on her paws again. "It seems like there's always something new to worry about. Our pack mates either leave or our patrols find their bodies... How many of them that have left are actually lying dead out there somewhere? Did they run off, or are they another victim of a wild cat?"

"I'm supposed to be a warrior, but I really wanted to be a healer. I feel like I'd be able to help my pack mates more if I was patching them up. I don't know if I'm brave enough to be a warrior...Especially now, when I wonder if I'll be brave enough to go outside of the camp." She admitted and glanced up at Blizzard. "But at least I know I'm not totally alone in that regard." She said, a small smile returning to her face. "Thanks, Blizzard, for um, being here. And for checking up on me." She paused and then asked. "Will you stay for a bit? Oh, um, unless you have other things to do that is."

BLIZZARD | Warrior | L-Pack | Tagging: Primrose | Location: Camp

You're not as scary as I’ve heard. Blizzard wasn’t quite sure what to think of that. Proud that he had a reputation as a fighter? Disappointed that aggressive and cold might be how others saw him? Of course, back when he’d been recovering from his depression, he supposed he must have come off that way. It was quite true he had rejected the company of most wolves in that time out of his own fears and anxieties. However, when Primrose said that he WASN'T as scary as she’d heard, he couldn’t help the small smile that came to his face. He felt her fur brush against his lightly as she settled down. Simple touch like that, accidental or otherwise, was something he’d not had in a long time, and had never thought he’d missed, he’d thought he’d been fine just the way he was, but his smile grew.

Blizzard chucked quietly. "Well it’s good to know someone would remember me fondly if something did happen. I could say the same about you," He assured her. There. With all that was going on, if something did happen to either of them, they would not be completely forgotten. He couldn’t speak to those who had left, for he’d neither seen nor scented them since the days they had left, if even that. Starfire. Smoke. Lunou. Alita. They had simply disappeared without a trace, one at a time, and by now, their scents had long since faded.

"Primrose...even the greatest Warriors are afraid sometimes. You don’t need to be fearless to be a Warrior. You just have to know where your limits are. Some of us have limits that say we're only brave enough to go on border guards or solo missions, some of us are fearless in battle, or anything in between. Nobody expects perfection," He told her. "And of course. I’m glad to check up on you. I’ll be glad to stay a bit. No duties have been assigned and for the life of me, I can’t find my Trainee recently, so I have nowhere to be off to anytime soon."

Prim was happy to see him smile, but she couldn't bring herself to smile as widely. She'd been judging other wolves for getting over the deaths of the recently buried just minutes ago. She'd be a hypocrite if she started enjoying her time so soon, just because the older warrior was concerned for her.

"Oh?" She allowed herself to smile a little wider at his commentary. "What sort of good things would you say about me? You haven't exactly gotten to know me much, outside of patrols." She could say the same on her end, could be questioned for the same things. She paused for a minute to think, her ears becoming still, before she smiled. "Cause I could say how kind you were for checking up on everyone in the pack - even the ones you didn't know very well. And that you cared a lot about the wolves you befriended aaaaand that you're good-looking." She said, unable to prevent the grin from spreading across her face. She would feel bad about it later.

Her smile fell a little bit as he went on to explain how even the greatest warriors got afraid. She nudged him gently, wondering if he would even feel it with their size difference.
"Comparing yourself to the greatest warriors, eh, Blizzard? Pretty confident, ain't cha?" She teased, but she understood, too. "But... yeah. Thank you." She let herself lean on him. They were side by side anyway and he could move away if he wanted to. "And thanks for sticking around. It's... it's a nice change of pace to have someone to lean on. Literally and figuratively." She chuckled softly.

BLIZZARD | Warrior | L-Pack | Tagging: Primrose | Location: Camp

Blizzard thought about that. "Well, for starters, I would say that you had compassion for your Packmates, even the ones you may not have known well. I would say that you always wanted wolves to be remembered for their lives, and what they accomplished in them, and that you trusted enough to be open with your thoughts and feelings. That you were honest. Those are good things to be remembered for, right?"

When Primrose leaned against him, he turned to curl himself just a bit around her smaller frame. His own attempt at offering some form of comfort. He’d been depressed, moody, and cold in the past even to his own Packmates while he dealt with all the confusion that had surrounded Mick. He’d pushed everyone away, even when they were just trying to help. He’d remained mad at Mick, at Axel, at Angel, and it had all led to nothing but stress and chaos. He wouldn’t push anyone else away. He had recovered from that depression and had no desire to push anyone away anymore, when instead, he could be a support, an ally, and in some cases, such as now, offer comfort.

"Comparing myself? Hardly! I’ve known a number of great Warriors in my life, I’m just average." Perhaps that was true when it came to skill, but he remembered Enna always remembering him as the young Warrior who’d been willing to take on Alpha Max, almost twice his age, and more than twice his skill, without a trace of fear. "Well, I’m happy to be here to offer support in whatever way I can," Blizzard told her.
