"Right. How would you try to react to an opponent coming at you head-on?" Ares asked, fixing his eyes on his Trainee. He would ask first. She was not yet at the point where he had to make her think fast in order to test her.

Storm snorted.
"Well evidently she didn't mean that, if she's swooning over another male so quickly. Sure, sure, he could just be a friend, but why would she use him as an argument point if they were just friends." She contemplate aloud. "Something about that doesn't smell right to me, but you're through with her now. You don't have to have anything more to do with her. And...she didn't say for certain if she would or wouldn't keep you from your pups. If she plans on using them as a bargaining tool or worse... As a way to hurt you Karter..." She sighed and shook her head. "Then we might not be able to watch them grow up to graduates. We might not be able to see them more than an encounter today. If Aala is suddenly being vindictive, odds are she'll either have another bipolar episode or she'll stay vindictive. If it's the latter... You might want to cut your losses. We can tell Shadow about what happened with Fai-with June, try to be there for the final decision on that so we're not left wondering... and then we can leave the packs." She suggested.

She flicked her ears, listening to the sounds of the river.
"If Aala is already taken care of... and she doesn't want you around the pups... You need to think about what you're going to say to them today, as it might be your last chance to do that. Just in case."

OOC: Yeah, she's fine now. I groomed the stuff out of her fur, and she's just sleeping on a table.

"Uhh... Move? And slash their side!" Wraith exclaimed, jumping forward and running her paw through the air, as if there were really an enemy right in front of her. Her ice blue eyes glanced up at Ares for confirmation, her black tail still swaying.

She nodded and said, "His name was like Thomas or something like that."

AWWW!! I'm glad she's ok. My dog hates water and getting wet and my mom sprayed her with our water gun four or five times. She is so scared right now.

My dog was either rolling or eating something. She is a dachshund and she loves to eat.

I can tell. That’s what hurts. Not that she might like someone else, but that if she’s liked him long enough to have asked for help raising her Pups, and he’s agreed...that she never told me. At least I told the truth.

Karter lifted his head. "She said she wasn’t barring them from me, just that she knew they would have questions at some point. At least, that's what I got from that exchange." He'd expected that. Through with things as he may be, that didn’t stop the guilt and yes, grief, from settling in. Things had used to be so good, and when they started failing, he’d held on to hope that maybe they would change for the better eventually, and he’d tried everything he could, but it was never any good. "I know. I have words for each of them if today IS my last day with them, though I hope against hope...that it isn’t." It was true, Aala had always been likely to change on a whim, but not on his LIFE did Karter expect she would ever go out of her way to hurt him, both as someone who had loved him, and as the she-wolf she’d always said she was, never willing or able to hurt any living thing. Not that it always feels like I’m living.

Ares neither confirmed nor denied her guess. He just nodded coldly to her. "Very well, then. Let’s see if you’re right. Remember, your foe might do anything."

With that, the brown Warrior tensed and lunged, aiming to slash at her shoulder, but reminding himself silently to not draw blood. He hadn’t been known for going easy on anyone, but for a Trainee who was barely beginning, he could afford not to go full strength at her.

Leo's eyes widened in shock as she mentioned the name. Amber eyes, brown pelt, aggressive. That could describe a number of wolves, but coupled with the name, he hadn’t a doubt in his mind. He’d only known Thomas, under the name Jay, for a couple months, if that, but he’d seen what he was able and willing to do before his banishment. It wasn’t a coincidence.

"Um...that...that makes your Pups...the half siblings of Karter, Cole, Toby, and Valley," He realized awkwardly. "I know the Wolf you’re talking about! He was a Lightning wolf until a few months ago, when he was banished!"

Her eyes widened and said, "No... he couldn't have. I think I need to tell those four about this, but I'm worried they will get mad or they will be uncomfortable with the whole situation."

Wraith's back legs tensed as Ares lunged, and she sprung forwards, reaching out to slash at his exposed sides with a black paw.

Leo nodded. "Y-Yes! I...only knew him a couple of months when he was here, but he’s bad news. He was banished, wandering around this forest someplace, I guess. He said he wasn’t through with Karter, Cole, and Tobes. So two things. One, I can see he has a good eye for pretty she-wolves, but anyway, that aside, please...don’t go out in the forest alone, okay? I don’t want something to happen."

Smart wolf she is. Let’s see if she can outdo this one, knowing just the basics. Ares pulled back at the last second, twisting to try and slam himself, putting his full weight into it, against her shoulder.
