Karter wanted to tell Storm not to challenge it, but he couldn’t speak. He was just...dumbfounded. THIS was the reaction? Well, it was better than if Aala had started crying. He still felt bad, looking at the she-wolf he had called his mate, that he had started a family with, with high hopes for the future. A future that in the end, it turned out they could not have. Not together. "I’m sorry, Aala. I am. And I hope...you’ll still permit me to be around the Pups as they grow up. If not, that’s okay, just tell me your thoughts on that matter."

She had told him she only ever wanted him to be happy, and he knew that was true, because he wanted the same for her. "I wish only the best for you, too. Whatever that may be. Aala...will you be okay? Tell me honestly."

Night came back from the forest, stealing a glance behind her to make sure Sandstorm was following. Did she care personally for Sandstorm? No, not really. They’d never talked, and Night rarely went out of her way to talk to anyone except maybe her brother on occasion, but what she DID care about was the overall well-being of the Pack. Finally she just faced the front and lifted her head up high again, brushing off the annoyance. If she can stand, she can walk. "False alarm. Hope we didn’t wake anyone up from a midday nap," She said with a note of sarcasm, glancing towards the dens, the fresh scent of several wolves coming from around or inside them.

Words came to Smoke's lips, and they weren’t a cocky ‘you’re welcome' or some comment about how awesome she was as she’d expected, but words that for once sounded far sweeter to her. She looked up at Starfire, who was leaning lightly against her, and her gaze warmed just a bit. "I realize for the first time, now that things are settling in, that we're mates, and..." She paused. "I never said it before. I’ll say it now. I love you."

She sighed when the meeting was long over, nudging Accalia and saying “Let’s go.” She turned to head back to the den. She saw Azall and Asphodel were back, and barked to them. “ I'm glad! I um...I had a bad dream that something happened... " she called back to him.

Smoke closed her eyes and relaxed. Although they were mates, somehow, saying the words had made her heart pound, made her face heat up under her fur, and the fur along her spine prickle with nerves. The words had tasted sweet on her tongue though, and hearing them said back to her? Even better. She leaned firmly against Starfire. A smile came to her face, and she did not try to hide it.

Finally, Blizzard emerged from the den, blinking against the light. He'd been awake, but had been too tired to wish to move much, but he could not just laze around forever, as much as he’d like to. The sun was high in the sky, but after staying up all night to talk to Cypress, he was sure he could be forgiven his nap. Clover had not moved from where she had sat the day before, perhaps zoning out, and it was somewhat worrisome. They’d never talked much, but it didn’t stop the sleek white Warrior from worrying. So he shrugged and wandered over.

"Good morning, Clover. Or is it afternoon?" Blizzard had long since lost track, truth be told. "Are you okay? You’ve been sitting here for a long time, all on your own," He added.

OOC: @Spirit: So what happened with Mick was this. They were mates. At some point both Angel and Axel flirted with Mick, which caused Mick and Bliz to break up like...four times, then Aron quit, and along with Talon, Everest, Larnarusna and a host of others, Mick vanished. Blizzard's depressed, jealous, and edgy.
