Karter didn’t miss the angry look on Storm's face even once they walked away from Bertrum, but before he could ask the stupid question of if she was okay, she had spoken again, offering to help. Now he wasn’t quite sure how that would work, since ANY outcome seemed a bit of a stretch. Aala had always been unpredictable when it came to emotional situations, but it wasn't going to hurt to have some sort of practice.

"Yeah. I think... that would probably help. Just kinda...be ready to face it." Of course, facing Aala for real would be different, because it wouldn’t be practice, it’d be telling the wolf he had in the end opted to take for his mate that their relationship wouldn’t work, and he knew it would hurt them both. He worried more about Aala, but he had some ideas on how to approach it, so that perhaps it would hurt LESS. I made my choice after careful thought. It’ll hurt, but I made my choice, and I think...it's the right one. He told himself silently.

That...was NOT the reaction Toby had expected. He had thought that of all wolves, Nightfall would have understood. Especially when she had just SAID she did. His heart twisted. The LAST thing I want to do is hurt her...she’s been through so much. And I do like her. I don’t think anyone could deny that. I don’t want to give myself to her now though, and while being with her have my mind on Naru.

However, Toby groaned. Then he rose to his feet and chased after her, thankful for his speed. "Nightfall, talk to me a sec! This's confusing, a moment again, you said you understood, and then...run away crying? Talk to me! 'Not now' doesn’t mean never, I just don’t want to be unfair to you. I’m scared if I started something up with you and then Naru was on my thoughts, it’d be unfair to the both of us."

Shadow dipped her head. "Very well. If you, Tiger, wish for him to train you, and you, Cole, wish to be his trainer, then it shall be so," She promised with a small smile.

Alaska was sitting at the edge of the camp, contemplating her...slightly messy life, when Fire approached her, asking to talk. With nothing better to do, and it seemed no daily orders had issued as of yet.

"Of course. What’s the matter?"
