I smiled and shook my head, leaning into Asphodel and staring up at the stars. feeling as if I could almost comprehend the vastness of the sky before him."That's.. The bravest thing I've done is to look myself in the stillness off a lake, seeing the stars reflect off the water, painting the sky with me in it.Me, alone in this sea of darkness. only distant balls of light where anywhere near me. I felt the loneliness but also felt myself. I was afraid of accepting responsibility again. The beautiful, slender long legged golden female made a small sound. She lay there awhile, then began to feel it. She sat up quick, getting sick on the floor of the den. She shuddered and coughed a couple times, still shuddering once done.

xxxAsphodel was utterly confused about what Azall's idea of the bravest thing he had ever done was...staring into a reflection. Of course he was young and didn't quite understand what he meant entirely by it. Asphodel hadn't yet committed many wrongs, and the most serious thing he'd done was prepare Rita for her vigil and assist in burying the young pup. Then again, he supposed he could have seen himself as a gravedigger, an assigned mourner, an angel of death to those passing in the healer's den. A shudder raced through him. Suddenly, he understood. Asphodel would one day hold the power of life and death in his paws, not through violence, but via peace. And that was scarier, in his opinion. "Well, I...I hope pack life can offer you that." The young white wolf remarked softly.

Karter had not raced in a long time. Not a serious race, anyway. Basic sprints, short jogs, but that wasn’t the same. He hadn’t raced since...a couple days before they’d first found Rue in the forest that day, he realized, but that old competitive spark flared up in him again at the challenge. His eyes lit up.

"Try me!" At once, he took off after the she-wolf, troubles momentarily forgotten as he focused on keeping his breathing even as not to use up his breath all at once.

xxxAsphodel closed his eyes at the cheek lick and sighed, deciding to let his emotions go for now on that subject. Rita's death was still far too recent, and the dirt hadn't even settled over her grave. How many more would he dig until he was laid in his very own? Such a thought made a shudder run through the young wolf and he laid his chin on his paws while gazing at the stars. "Thank you, Azall." He fretted softly.

I have a yawn and shifted my weight more onto Asphodel. Teasingly trying to crush him with my weight "the night is taking me to the dreamscape, Asphodel save me!" I chuckled then fell to the floor, plopping down dead as my body relaxed on the floor.

xxxAsphodel gasped whenever he felt the older wolf's weight on himself and he huffed beneath him, but his large ears were pricked and his tail wagged. "What- get off of me, you big lug!" The white wolf complained playfully and wiggled until he was free, and he bowed to Azall.
